One thing that was shocking about these old Germans and (particularly) Austrians was that, even after 70 to 80 years of disclosure about their WW2 soldiers' depravity towards Jews, once they were comfortable speaking, they expressed a perverted pride and pleasure in how depraved they could be... Like 2000 years of European Jew-hate had crystallised into its 'perfect' expression.

What shocked German soldiers the further east they went was that, although they were an invading army, they were hailed as liberators from Stalin and Jews.

The zeal with which many Eastern Europeans expressed their willingness to assist with a solution to the Jewish problem stunned the Germans... they were generally not aware of the depth of Jew-hate in the East.

Some old Nazis openly admit they hate Jews. You'd think it would be hard to have less respect for a person, until you come across one of those limp wristed old Nazis who cannot even say the word Jew, but merely dribbles on with endless conspiracies about people from 2 centuries ago who just happened to be Jews, and creative excuses for why every good thing achieved by Israel must be credited to the diligent efforts of non-Jews to undermine those evil conspiracies.

Throughout World War 2, there were many German soldiers who inside of the Soviet Union were executed in public. On huge gallows in front of thousands of people, German soldiers were condemned.
