he didn't want his election campaign ruined by a blackmailing woman
who conveniently came up with allegations just in time for the election.   Roll Eyes

Note: the electors voted for him knowing all about it.


She was a victim of his who timed her plan to make public his abuse at a time that would cause him most pain. More power to her and then he was found guilty after going to trial over it and convicted of 34 felonies. That's why he paid her the hush money - because he knew it would hurt his campaign if she made his abuse public.
