The path to LIFE......is in the WORD of God.

In the days of Jesus, the OT scripture [which Jesus frequently quoted]
was the only scripture there was.
They were, the Jewish scriptures.
They were referred to by Jesus as
"Moses and the prophets" or
"the law and the prophets" or
"the law and to the testimony".
Jesus, said that he [being one with the Father] had authorship of those Jewish scriptures....through the hand of Moses and the prophets.
see 1 Corinthians 10:1-4
The WORDS of GOD are truth/true......and were written down,
by Moses and the prophets, and copied by Jewish scribes.
Jesus also said, that 'the law and the prophets'.....spoke of him and of his coming,
as the anointed one,
as the saviour, of his people.
As the scriptures had foretold.
Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen:
that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:
before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD;
and beside me there is no saviour.
Hosea 13:4
......I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me:

When Jesus 'arrived', as their anointed one [their saviour],
he was not 'recognised', by his own 'holy' people.

The O.T. scripture warns us all......that if the 'doctrines',
followed 'by the people',
or promoted 'by the church',
do not align with God's own statutes and precepts and judgments,
then that is because they come from that 'other' spiritual 'authority'.
Not.....from God.
Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony:
if they speak not according to this word,
it is because there is no light in them.
