The US Government took the money, the US Government will pay the money back; and the customers/taxpayers will foot the bill. All of the above.

Seeing as the businesses paid it and will get it back they are no way out of pocket. Customers will have to wait longer, but they will eventually  likely be refunded. The money will be in  Consolidated accounts.

You provided no evidence to back up your assertions, despite the link. Your reply goes way beyond the link.

Which assertions? Look, you just said he's not your DL.

So, are we to take it you're all good with presidents levying taxes without Congress, frittering the revenue away in subsidies, insulting Supreme Court judges when they inevitably rule against it and having no plan to pay the billions back when they do?

This was DL's signature economic policy. It's his favourite word in the dictionary.

If he's not your DL, I take it from your defence you think this is an effective way of governing.

Either way, it's time. Tell us you condemn this kind of unconstitutional incompetence henceforth and hitherto.

Or not.

There are two things there.

1. If the refunds go to business and no further, it increases their profit and tax on that profit.

2. if the customers kept their receipts, they can get a refund.

It's just pantomime.

Oh, I know.

Despicable deplorable, innit.

Grimacing, tapdancing paki pantomime. Better?
I'm being inclusive, caring and nurturing.

Do you mean subsidies funded by legislation, approved by a Republican-majority Senate?

The same subsidies funding green energy projects where most of the Republican representatives that voted against them turned up to their respective ribbon-cutting ceremonies in support?

No, Lee, I most certainly do not. Don't want to answer the question?

Oh look - you've gone.

Not at all, dear boy. Inclusive, caring and nurturing is when you share your most valuable thoughts on the subject at hand.

Despicable-deplorable's when you chuck a hissy and run off.

...............  Your DL's entire strategy was to trash things so bad that the Supreme Court would simply go with the status quo. This was certainly his administration's argument in court. It is, of course, the way he plays every issue, from his mismanagement of covid to DOGE to his invasion of Iran. Create a problem, let others come up with a solution and claim a "win": a wrecking ball approach to policy and administration. All the king's horses and all the king's men could never put Humpty together again.

He has form with this approach. He used it to get building permits for half-demolished property developments in the 1980s. He used it to avoid personal liability when he bankrupted three casinos, dragging out proceedings to delay settlement. They even used it to edit episodes of the Apprentice, recutting his off-script, profanity-laden boardroom monologues and manufacturing conflict in the form of "reality" TV drama.

Your DL has spent his life burning through other people's wealth - his inheritance, his junk-bond investors, his NBC executives, who finally saw the light and fired him after 14 years. He has burned through three marriages, using the tabloid fodder of two of his divorces as a form of self-promotion. He burned his one important friendship, ratting out his buddy Jeff over a property deal. His attempts to bury the Epstein files have given him countless opportunities for new distractions - Greenland, Venezuela, Iran. Create a problem, play the victim, seek vengeance.

So yes, dear. The US Government took the money, the US Government will pay the money back; and the customers/taxpayers will foot the bill. All of the above.

And somehow, out of all that, your DL managed to pocket $4 bil in his first year alone.

This, of course, is why you go rather shy when discussing the delicate subject of presidential corruption. You won't even condemn presidents taking bribes to pardon criminals. His pardons have cost US revenue $1.3 bil, not to mention the debts owed to victims, all commuted.

there is also his felony convictions, sexist attitude, rape, stealing from a charity, cheating on every wife, NDA's as a marriage contract.
this is america.
