We are actually huge food exporters.
However - if we don't get diesel, we won't be doing any farming.
Average farmer is now 61 yo.
Losing farmers like crazy.
Big feed lots and huge acreage farms have replaced them.
These need huge pieces of million dollar machinery, huge supplies of diesel.
Huge supplies of nitrogen fertiliser , software, satellites.
Massive movement of stock.
Weaklings from all over the state trucked to food lots.
Huge processing facilities hungry for power.
Refrigeration.
More transport and logistics.
You are at the very end of an incredibly intricate, just in time, logistical nightmare.
One step falls over and it ceases to function.
