Rep. John Larson introduced an impeachment resolut
Apr 9th, 2026 at 11:00pm

Rep. John Larson of Connecticut introduced an impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump on Monday, drafted by Ralph Nader and constitutional attorney Bruce Fein, accusing the U.S. president of 13 articles:
Article I — War without permission. Trump launched military operations in the Caribbean, Yemen, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and elsewhere without Congress ever authorizing it.
Article II — Troops on American streets. Trump called in the National Guard to LA, Chicago, Portland, and Washington, D.C., which the resolution said was intended to scare people out of protesting.
Article III — Illegal deportations. The administration detained and deported people based on race, ethnicity, or political opposition.
Article IV — Punishing critics. Trump fired FBI agents and DOJ lawyers who worked on January 6 cases, and issued a K–12 education order, which the resolution calls propaganda.
Article V — Pardons as favors. Over 1,500 January 6 rioters were pardoned, including people convicted of r*pe and child ab*se.
Article VI — Gutting federal agencies. Mass firings and illegal funding freezes dismantled consumer, environmental, and worker protection programs — violating the Impoundment Control Act and the Administrative Procedure Act.
Article VII — Spending money Congress never approved. Trump froze grants, spent unappropriated funds, and diverted money — all without congressional authorization.
Article VIII — Hiding the evidence. The withheld Epstein documents, which the resolution calls stonewalling of oversight to cover up wrongdoing.
Article IX — DOJ as a weapon. Trump ordered retaliatory investigations against James Comey, Adam Schiff, Jerome Powell, and others while ordering the DOJ to drop the indictment of a political ally.
Article X — Ignoring laws entirely. Trump fired 17 Inspectors General without providing the legally required 30-day notice to Congress.
Article XI — Erasing birthright citizenship. A January 20 executive order attempted to strip citizenship from certain U.S.-born children, in violation of the 14th Amendment.
Article XII — Manufacturing emergencies. Trump declared a “national energy emergency” and called border crossings a military “invasion” — both legal pretexts to bypass laws rather than responses to real crises.
Article XIII — Cashing in on the presidency. Trump refused to divest from his businesses and used the powers of his office to steer American and foreign money toward his personal ventures.
