I think there is a bigger picture here, Ben was accepted into the army because of his willingness to do what is necessary, thats what the army look for. He was put into a position where he was in a world of kill or be killed. Trusting someone could cost you your life, the army put him there and they knew the risks. I have no idea how you can judge and punish anyone in that position. He is the result of something but his responsibility is indeterminable for me.

Probably the head of state is the US pres., hard to say really.

I have ZERO problem with the way the Taliban fought, asymmetric warfare is 1000s of years old. I'd participate in an asymmetric warfare campaign if necessary.
