Isn’t that the point of a trial?

No, the point of a trial is to present evidence, to prove a case. No forensics - No evidence, No bodies - no evidence. The four witnesses admitted to murder  copped a plea deal - suspect evidence.

Why if there is a plethora of evidence would they need up to 9 years to go to trial?

The DPP cannot decide to prosecute without evidence.

The Federal police could not make an arrest without cause.

No court will hear a case where there is no case to answer.

There is evidence. Whether it includes only via these four witnesses, pr whether there is further evidence not yet made public, there is evidence acceptable to the FPP and the Federal police...

The length of time taken likely indicates a reluctance to prosecute. Why that was will likely be revealed during the trial.

Ah those four. Offered immunity - four say he did, one says he didn't. Who do you put the trust in the four given immunity or the rabbit in the headlights? Wink

I look at it differently, we have four people bribed by the prosecution to say what the prosecution wants them to.

As you're not party to the prosecution's case, you can't know they have nothing. What we have is a lower court finding that BRS probably committed murder. A DPP that appears to have reason enough to charge BRS with war crime murder. A foreign nation-state that may have applied pressure to the Commonwealth to test the finding beyond a reasonable doubt, unless you believe that nation-states are OK with foreign states murdering their citizens.

Australia is not the US... a concept that eludes many Australians... it does not have the political, military and economic power to ignore any demands for justice by a foreign state against Australian citizens. or threaten foreign states with consequences, as the US does.

Do you have access to the prosecution's full summary of evidence?

All we have is maybes, until the trial begins.

Hard to imagine an Australian PM referring to a recognised nation-state as a failed shitehole.

Australian PMs are not paragons of sincerity.

Afghanistan IS a failed state shitehole because of the people who populate it.

They're heads of Australian governments who'd be aware that insulting nation-states and dismissing the probable murders of their citizens by an Australian as not worthy of investigation could likely endanger the lives of Australians.

They murdered Australians when we were there to help them.
Now the Talibans - the enemy- are in charge, after 20 years of Australia and West tried to give Afghans a chance for a life other than unded some gruesome bearded fanatics. They chose tge grusome bearded fanatics. *uck 'em. Not people you sacrifice your war heros to.

Australia and the West should expell  ALL Afghan 'refugees' and bar ALL Afghans from entering.

Ditto Muslim Syrians, Lebs, Pakistanis.

Maybe we shouldn't have been there at all... it was only the usual Australian arselick fest of US butt in the first place...

The military gave BRS a Victoria Cross for conspicuous gallantry, exceptional bravery.

The civilians are pursuing him in the civilian criminal courts.

Suggest that you look up Command Responsibility, if BRS did wrong then there is/are Commanders who share responsibility, yet we hear nothing about charges being laid.
