10:12 Thursday, 2 April 2026 Tehran, Iran Internet's still up.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially declared 18 U.S. and Gulf technology firms as "legitimate military targets" in retaliation for what it describes as ongoing assassinations. The listed entities include Cisco, HP, Intel, Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, IBM, Dell, Palantir, Nvidia, J.P. Morgan, Tesla, GE, Spire Solutions, G42, and Boeing, with the threat specifically targeting their operations across the Middle East.
The IRGC announced that attacks on these facilities would commence at 8 p.m. Tehran time on April 1, 2026, following the failure of the U.S. and Israel to halt operations Tehran labels as "terrorist." The group accused these companies of serving as the "primary element in designing and tracking" targets for U.S. and Israeli intelligence, asserting that for every assassination in Iran, one facility or unit belonging to these companies will face destruction.
Employees of these firms were urged to immediately leave their workplaces, and residents living within a one kilometre radius of their facilities across the region were ordered to evacuate to safer areas. This declaration marks a significant escalation, as the IRGC has expanded the conflict's scope from traditional military installations to commercial data centres, AI hubs, and corporate infrastructure in the Gulf, including operations in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Israel.
