US senator slams ‘blank cheque’ for Israel despite ‘blatantly racist policies’
Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen has joined the growing condemnation of Israel’s new death penalty law that would see Palestinians but not Jewish Israelis face death by hanging in the occupied West Bank.

“Just yesterday the Netanyahu [government] adopted a law to hang Palestinians who commit certain crimes in the West Bank but not Israeli settlers who commit the same crimes,” Van Hollen wrote in a post on X.

“Why are we sending a blank check of billions of [dollars] to a [government] that pursues these and other blatantly racist policies?” he asked.

The US sends billions of dollars of military assistance to Israel every year, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announcing an additional $4bn in emergency military funding in March.

After 3000 years, the present incarnation of the Israeli state - with the backing of the world's superpower, has finally achieved enough power to ovecome any opposition to it's existence - rule of law be damned.

Ironically, one of the first acts of the UN - an institution created to "save mankind from the scourge of war" - was to recreate a long-extinct state on confiscated land, resulting in the current "endless war"...

Israeli analysts observed that contributing factors have included the systematic exhaustion of the air defence network, and the destruction of U.S. forward radar systems in allied Arab states such as Qatar and the United Arab Emirates which have limited the quantities of cueing data that can be provided. Sources further observed that mass bombardment by Hezbollah paramilitary units in Lebanon has further strained Israeli and U.S. defences.
