Vic Liberals.

For all those complaining about a substandard Labor Government, this is one reason they will get returned to power when it is clear they need a good kick up the backside.  Moira Deeming was one of the more decent members but the Old Boy’s Club got their way in the end

The Old INDIAN Boys' Club, to be precise.

The Left is capured by the Muslims, the Libs and ON by the Injuns.

Dreadful.

...

The Victorian Liberals will hold another preselection convention to elect a candidate for a top spot on the party’s upper house ticket, after it was revealed the man who replaced Moira Deeming wrote a court character reference for a friend who was convicted of grooming a 15-year-old girl.

What's the bet he's a MAGA supporter?

Melbourne Victoria has always been a Lefty SPORTS City-State.
More so than other States with Queensland following in 2nd place.
Politics has never been their strong point and it shows.

Sadly for Australia. Via Anus ALP have made Australia as a whole like Victoria with Queensland One Nation coming in with support. This is Media politics that does not adhere to our British sponsored Australian political true culture.

I fear the worse is yet to come. Victoria has infected the country with something worse than COVID.

I recall one of us (takes a bow) saying that India, apart from having no solutions to its own problems of massive over-crowding, division, 'class conflicts' treatment of women, etc, and despite its 'British' heritage... is an extremely luke-warm 'socialist' country with a host of very strange ideas on human equalities etc, that it supports Iran ........ and could side with China in any global conflict ...... and frankly many of its 'men' are just not our kind.

I again suggest a move to 'Guest Worker Visas' for tradespeople rather than the lies we are being told about the 'economic need' for mass immigration from anywhere.

I remain unconvinced we need many components of many of these cultures in our multi-cultural society.

Interesting By election in Nepean Electorate in Vic.   Nepean takes in most of the ‘wealthy” areas of the Mornington Peninsula and a few other not so salubrious places and, for most of it’s existence has been held by the Liberals.   Following Sam Groth running away, the election saw Liberals, One Nation an Independent and the usual ‘strange’ parties that form up for this election.

The opinions at the time predicted a huge One Nation win but this was not the case.  The Liberals retained the seat, the Independent came second and One Nation trailed a fair way behind.

What was surprising however  was the fact the Liberals actually had a large swing AGAINST them after pushing hard against the incumbent Labor Government (even though Labor chose not to run a candidate)

It could be that the LNP stink a lot more than the Labor Government and that could give an tired and worn out Labor party another term in Government.    If the LNP want to win the next election they need to start coming up with decent, costed policies because they are being thrashed left, right and centre by Labor.

“ Sunday Morning

It is clear who has won but unclear who will finish second. One Nation’s Darren Hercus leads Independent Tracee Hutchison in the race for second. There are enough Greens votes that suggests Hutchison could close the gap and reach second but this is unclear. The question is whether the VEC should be engaging in further information counts to work out who finishes second when it does not impact on the main purpose of holding the by-election, electing a new member. And determining the winner is the legal obligation of the VEC.”

“ ABC.

If I read this correctly basically they don’t need to declare a runner up?

Interesting stuff because VEC is state government department.

Is there a vested or valid reason for not saying one nation beat all the rest?

I guess if you don’t like the results just make it illegal to keep voting?

Seig Victoria!!!

One Nation is sucking votes away from both major parties.
The fact that Labor didn't run in this election hides the probable big swing against Labor also.

That 9% swing away from the Libs on Primary votes does not account for the substantial Primary vote for One Nation.

Where did that other 15% come from?

Looks like previous Labor voters who had no Labor candidate this time contributed that "other" 15% swing to One Nation.  Wink
