Free Public Transport Should Be Just The Start

FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SHOULD JUST BE THE START OF COST OF LIVING RELIEF MEASURES, GREENS SAY
2026-03-29
greens.org.au
The Greens say free public transport for a month should just be the start of the cost of living relief measures Victorians need right now.

It comes after the government today adopted the Greens’ policy for free public transport for a month in response to the fuel crisis.

The Greens welcome the announcement saying there is plenty more the government can be doing to help Victorians with the cost of living right now.

Quotes attributable to Leader of the Victorian Greens, Ellen Sandell.

“This is proof that governments can make decisions that bring down the cost of living and help people get everything they need to live a good life. The Greens have plenty more ideas, if the government wants to copy our homework, they are more than welcome to.”

“Victorians are hurting right now, free public transport is a great first step, but there are so many more things the government could be doing to support Victorians with the cost of living right now like making price gouging illegal, free healthcare and childcare and ending unlimited rent increases.”

Again ?.

The greens are pretty much finished because they never get anything right.

How did they poll in SA compared to one nation.

Sure seems like South Australians don't appreciate the worlds highest electricity charges  Grin Grin Grin

Why compared to O.N.
ON did well because they are a protest party and even Blind Freddy new Labor would be returned. Plus the Liberals are finished in the State.

Greens, more successful than Labor or Liberals in S.A, gaining 1.3% in support.

Positive for the next Federal Election

Logical though, to ease the pressure of high petrol prices for the people living in the country and small towns who rely on petrol the most the government are going to give free transport to those that don't own cars and face the high cost of fuel.

The implications of free public transport in NSW goes well beyond the lost money to the state government.

Free public transport would be devastating to the largest and most expensive toll road system in basically the world!

Politicians will always put their businesses mates before the general public.
