As I said it depends on the disciplines that one trained in, an elderly person who did multiple disciplines stands a better than even chance of disabling or killing an attacker, a well aimed punch to the testicular sack will bring the biggest and toughest to their knees, fingers in the eyes will finish the job; neither move requires strength, only ruthlessness.
Chuck Norris at 86 would be a better fighter than most other 86 year olds. But, he might not stand a chance against a 70 year old with a long term fighting history. Even if you can factor out health problems of Norris' later years, he is not going to be much of an opponent to someone years younger than him.
You can have all the Bruce Lees out there that are still at peak performance and can take out 98% of opponents. But, if Bruce Lee came up against a 7ft tall guy, 150kg of mostly muscle, and probably 2 years of general fighting experience to complement his muscular physique, you could safely say that Bruce Lee would be made into dog food after 5 minutes of fighting.
Bruce Lee at 32 years of age would kick the crap out of a 32 year old UnSubRocky. But, if Bruce Lee survived to be an 86 year old man, all the fighting skills and healthy eating would do little to keep Lee standing up against a 47 year old UnSubRocky. I happen to be healthier now than I was when I was 32 years old.
The point being, age catches up with people. I can outsprint a 70 year old world record holder in his age division over the 200 metres. When that 70 year old was my age, I bet he could outsprint me by 2 seconds over that 200 metre distance.
