We get more rain one year. Less rain another year. We have modest winters one year. Cold winters another.

I am currently cleaning up my house (not right now) getting ready for the onset of a cold winter this year. There is a good chance that I will be covering the windows with blankets to trap in the warmth.

Whether we use coal to fuel our power plants, or nuclear energy, the climate is not going to go "Oh, look at that. People are using different energy sources. We should hold off raising the average world temperature levels".

The promise is happening right now, demented, grimacing fool:

Janus Electric flags five-year pathway to electrify Australia’s freight fleet, cutting diesel use by 10bn litres

Electrifying Australia’s heavy freight fleet could be achieved within as little as five years — far faster and at significantly lower cost than widely assumed — according to new analysis from Janus Electric Holdings Ltd (ASX:JNS).

ASX:JNS, eh?  Send money now to sendmoneynow.com.au, innit.

Also, you are familiar with the conditional, aren't you? and that 'pathway in 5 years' IS about a future promise, not present reality.

Still, carry on grimacing like a moron with Alzheimers.

There you go, old boy. There appears to be a smug belief.

And its all yours.

So let's ask a few questions -

1. Do these batteries need to be returned for recharge?  The two battery packs weigh 2.08 tonne each, according to the Lodestar website. And the 400 km relies on regenerative braking. Not much braking happens on long haul routes.

2. Do they have rechargers of sufficient size, so that they can be charged at the change depots. 620KWh batteries at a normal 32KWh charge rate, would take 19 hours charging each. Special chargers require more input power than the standard.

And according to Lodestar the Europeans don't think it will work, but hey hey have no experience, right?

Did you say the Europeans?

Currently in a race with Chi-na to sell more electric trucks?

There appears to be a smug belief, as every schoolboy knows.

oh cheaper? Nothing about the payload ability, nothing about kilometre range.

European countries are only about 3-4% individually in size, compared to Australia. So no great distance to travel. can't you find something beyond "cheapness"? Grin Grin Grin Grin

Is there a question in there?

I'm curious.

From a scientist:

Sorry? The temperature's up by an average 1.7 degrees. It's rising more than a tenth of a degree annually.

Perhaps you'd like to confer with Lee, dear. Depending on the season, he pretends it's cooling, rising, dampening, drying, you name it.

It is a jolly world, no?

Sorry you named the wrong people. The "climate scientists" have said it is getting wetter and the "climate scientists" are the ones saying drought is increasing. So much for the null hypothesis. Roll Eyes

After all drought is the absence of rain. Grin Grin Grin

"Over the past 2 years, Earth got hotter faster than ever before"

https://www.science.org/content/article/over-past-2-years-earth-got-hotter-faste...

But of course we don't know how fast it warmed "ever before", the ice core data isn't that accurate.

"Droughts are coming on faster"

https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adh3097

So 1.7C/ 170 years is not 0.1 degrees annual rise. I knew about your science lack, I wasn't aware of you lack of maths. Bur maths is racist, isn't it. Wink
