Enjoy that FREE healthcare on my dime while its last.

Can you show me in your budget where it says it pays health care to Australians? Wink

Marla is just in denial about the fact that Americans are unable to pay for healthcare due to the fact that they have to maintain a massive military presence in the world and occasionally have to go provoke a war or two to justify its existence.

I will translate for Marla -

she means that we don't pay our fair share for defence therefore
we have plenty of money for hospitals and medical care.

The defence tab is picked up by the USA.

Apparently, Marla does not understand that bombing the hell out of countries does cost a fair bit of money. That is why Australians would rather set up diplomacy and trade with other countries peacefully.

Not what I'm saying at all. Now pay attention

The reason why I have no healthcare is because of bloated defense spending and the fact that none of your Aussies seem to give a toss about defending your own continent thinking America will do it for you.

Many Aussies are fat, lazy and have no ambition to defend in the name of freedom. By proxy, I am paying for your protection am I not?

That's why I have no healthcare.

I was shocked to see the LP auto Gas price up in Qld Whitsundays!
Here in Melbourne it’s .89 cents per litre:
In Whitsundays it’s $1.99.5 per litre!  Shocked

So, you have no health care because of your massive military budget. That was what I said. You disagreed and then went on agree that it was the problem. As for you saying that the United States is looking after Australia, you have that all backwards. You probably like the idea of Australia's location being a forward defence region, located in the southwest Pacific. 27 million Australians defending a continent (mostly desert) from an invasion of 100s of millions of Asians to the northwest of us. Why have they not attacked if they are hostile? The answer is they are not. And they probably don't mind a $2 trillion economy country like Australia buying their stuff and getting food and natural resources in return.

I don't like your attitude. I think I would want a bigger refund on my taxes, if you seriously think that your country is paying for my healthcare.

Yeah, I am fat and lazy of recent years. But I would have no problem doing 6 weeks of intensive training to get back into an acceptable fitness standard to rejoin the military -- if age was not an issue -- to defend my homeland. If there was a poll in the USA to decide whether to defend Australia from attack, most Americans would say "no". Does not seem to be the other way around, though.

I don't believe this video -

I reckon we've got plenty of oil -
we just haven't drilled enough research holes to find it all.

Australia is one of the most resource-rich countries on Earth, producing enormous amounts of gold, iron ore, coal, uranium, and natural gas. But despite its vast size and geological history, the continent has never become a major oil-producing nation. So why does Australia have so little oil compared to places like the United States or the Middle East? This video explores the geological reasons behind Australia’s limited oil reserves and explains how tectonics, basin evolution, heat flow, organic matter, and environmental history all combined to limit the formation of giant oil fields.

We have plenty of oil & gas.

We don't need shale oil.

The process to recover it is very expensive and it's very dirty .. that is it is far more dirty that coal mining or gas & oil.
