UAE leaves OPEC: Why this is a blow to the oil producing group but may benefit consumers.

Quote:
In Brief:

The United Arab Emirates has announced it will leave OPEC and OPEC+ on May 1.
The UAE's exit represents a win for US President Donald Trump as well as consumers and the broader economy, experts say.

I along with most people had no idea we were so vulnerable to
overseas trade and supply in oil.

Our Govts. from both sides of politics let us down in a terrible way.
I want to see all those responsible on trial for criminal negligence:
public servants and consultants who failed to warn politicians -
unless they did warn them and the Pollys ignored it?

Both sides of politics are right behind AUKUS -
wasting $360 billion to get 8 lousy subs in 15 to 20 years
yet there was no money for oil refineries or searching for more oil and gas -
which is where our real national security is to be found.

Even a proper tax on our gas exports could have paid for
more refineries and oil searching - drilling exploration holes free of charge.

Honestly - the politicians we have couldn't organise a chook raffle in a pub -
they are that hopeless -
they just hold their hands out for big salaries for doing nothing.
They don't care about us at all.

We are literally paying for a lie - a well known and accepted lie.

What we do makes no difference to the amount of fossil fuels burned.

Petrol prices went below $2/L yesterday. I did not know that until I read online social media.

For unleaded 91 @ $1.94 per litre.

Diesel is still 76c per litre dearer averaging $2.70 per litre.

Premium diesel selling at $2.49/L.

It does make me wonder about the consumption of diesel, though. Reports that 300 million litres of diesel being 3 days worth of fuel for the country? Is that right? It leaves me wondering with all the trucks on the road, are there 1 million of them using up 100 litres of diesel fuel per day each?

I don't believe this video -

I reckon we've got plenty of oil -
we just haven't drilled enough research holes to find it all.

Australia is one of the most resource-rich countries on Earth, producing enormous amounts of gold, iron ore, coal, uranium, and natural gas. But despite its vast size and geological history, the continent has never become a major oil-producing nation. So why does Australia have so little oil compared to places like the United States or the Middle East? This video explores the geological reasons behind Australia’s limited oil reserves and explains how tectonics, basin evolution, heat flow, organic matter, and environmental history all combined to limit the formation of giant oil fields.

Australia has plenty of oil. But much of it is light oils. Supposedly not good for making petrol.

We were told that we found massive quantities of oil suitable for making diesel and petrol to serve our needs many times over. This was 17 years ago. Allegedly, we have been told that oil fields have been exploiting the extraction of this oil and working overtime. If this is not true, I would like to know why.

This is great.

Finally, you kangaroo rooters have to actual pay for a luxury that you been living dirt cheap on the labor of others and their taxes. Cannot wait for the day when Trump charges you rent for American - and to a lesser extant European military protection.

And you know he will.

The days of freeloading with shrimps and barbies is about to come to a end. The peroxide twatwaffle here has a good point: if Kangaroo Land cannot support its allies much less itself why on earth should the allies support Kangaroo Land?

Enjoy that FREE healthcare on my dime while its last.

Finance Minister Katy Gallagher says it would be unsustainable for the government to indefinitely continue “supercharged” spending on the net-zero transition, as Labor lays the groundwork for breaking promises in Tuesday’s budget while denying tax hikes on housing and trusts are a “cash grab”.

So the net zero wheeze is unaffordable and Laror IS going for a cash grab.

PM say election promises are broken for 'good reasons'.

Australians have been protecting your United States of Al Qaeda asses since the second world war. Australians punch above their weight range in the military. It's the reason why we can send thousands upon thousands of troops overseas and come back with only a few deaths. How many American troops were saved in Vietnam because our Aussie soldiers went on rescue missions to bring them back to base, or cover fire when the Americans did not know that Viet Cong were about to frag their asses?

We Aussies don't expect to need your help, because we Aussies don't go out and provoke wars. And the military conflicts Australians do get involved, at the very least, we stick to rules of engagement. None of this "shoot on sight" procedure that American military do.

And free health care on your dime? So, all those high taxes I.... uh, other people in Australia a paying are not going towards health care? You are joking. And Americans don't pay much in taxes. That is why health care in the USAlQaeda is so expensive.

Can you show me in your budget where it says it pays health care to Australians? Wink
