And another not true item from gweggy. he never lets a story go to waste.

CPI apart from Energy - 3.2 -3.8%. And the biggest rises on energy are in those that have embraced renewables, mainly blue states. And no recession today. Wink

The cost of living crisis during the Trump administration continues to be heavily impacted by international conflicts—specifically the US war with Iran (started, illegally, by Trump), which has disrupted global energy markets and driven up petrol prices.

Despite the administration citing some cooling in core inflation, consumers continue to struggle with high grocery prices, expensive healthcare premiums, and housing costs.

According to those figures there is no crisis. Roll Eyes

Edit: Main drivers

Elevated consumer price inflation during 2021–2023 and persistent price pressures in services

Housing supply shortages and rising rents/house prices.
Higher health-care and prescription costs.
Childcare costs that consume a large share of earnings for families with young children.
Elevated interest rates increasing mortgage and borrowing costs.
Labor market tightness raising wages unevenly (larger gains for higher-wage jobs).
Supply-chain disruptions and energy price volatility (less dominant now but still relevant).

So who was President in those years? Wink

Meh - either Iran's religious government ditches the idea of global jihad to secure the Caliphate - or they meet Allah...

Guess what, folks?

It's TACO Tuesday (in Australia) again!

Trump calls off Iran strikes, cites pending deal

Quote:
President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon called off a plan to begin attacking Iran again, citing a pending deal with the Middle Eastern country amid a wavering ceasefire.

The president in a Truth Social post said he told Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and other top defense officials that "we will NOT be doing the scheduled attack of Iran tomorrow, but have further instructed them to be prepared to go forward with a full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment’s notice, in the event that an acceptable Deal is not reached."

Grin

This whole fiasco has become so predictable and boring. If it wasn't so serious in regards to the consequences for the whole world it would almost be called a comedy.

Just waiting for someone from Iran to come along now and say (again) that they know nothing about this.

And, I'm pretty sure this is all about Trump 'manipulating' the stock markets - again.

Edit: Of course it is.

ASX to rise, S&P 500 pares loss after Trump hits war pause

Quote:
Australian shares are set to open higher. US equities mostly recovered earlier losses after President Donald Trump said he agreed to delay renewed attacks against Iran at the request of three key Middle East allies.

As I said - so predictable and boring.  Roll Eyes

Pecca has had a childhood trauma he is unable to recover from.
His parents put chicken manure in his cradle thinking that he would grow faster but the manure was fresh and burned him, so to avoid family scandal they told him that chickens did it to him.
Now chicken image stack in his head forever   Sad

President Trump said UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had urged him to postpone tomorrow's planned strike on Iran, adding that he had agreed for now but ordered the Pentagon to remain prepared for a full-scale attack at short notice if no acceptable agreement was reached.

United States President Donald Trump has announced he will postpone a “scheduled attack” against Iran at the request of regional leaders in the Middle East.

The reversal, he said, came in light of the fact that “serious negotiations are now taking place”.
