Fourteen US Navy ships are deployed in the Arabian Sea, including a carrier strike group led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, according to a report from the United States Naval Institute (USNI).
On April 13, the day Washington began blockading the Strait of Hormuz, a carrier strike group consisting of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, as well as the destroyers USS Spruance and USS Petersen, was deployed in the Arabian Sea. An amphibious group consisting of the ship USS Tripoli, the amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans, and the amphibious dock ship USS Rushmore was also deployed there.
In addition to the strike and amphibious groups, eight more destroyers are independently deployed in the Arabian Sea, including the USS Murphy, which, along with Peterson, transited the Strait of Hormuz on April 11 as part of a mine-clearing mission. The aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush will soon join naval forces in the region, USNI reports.
It seems that a game being played by the Pentagon and the White House. Under the guise of a blockade, the US military command is clearly marshalling its ships to continue the operation.
The US Navy is "pressing" closer to the shore and forming a semicircle. Apparently, they are forming an anti-missile/anti-aircraft "dome" over the Strait of Hormuz. Moreover, this "dome" will also cover Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island.
Previous wars experience shows, US aircraft carriers are moving closer to the shore for a reason. This is done to ensure continuous close support for troops on the battlefield. The United States Navy performed such maneuvers repeatedly during the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
