Afghanistan - "2001 AUMF (60 words). Never updated, never repealed, never re-debated. Used for 20 years across 4 presidents."
"The AUMF was a blank check. Congress voted once in 2001 and never revisited the authorization for 20 years. Used to justify operations in 80+ countries"

Gulf War - "Congress authorized but did not declare. The distinction matters — authorizations can be narrower and time-limited. Bush Sr. said he would have invaded even if Congress had voted no."

He hasn't as yet invaded. Roll Eyes

But perhaps you can find a link that says he has indeed invaded.

The USA has plenty of examples of undeclared war. Many from the Democrats.

DL calls his invasion an excursion.

Yes.  He gets very confused.

His minders told him not to use the word 'war' as that would be admitting the attack is illegal.

They told him to use the word 'incursion' instead.

Poor old Diaper Don had never heard that word before and so he subsequently started using the word 'excursion' instead.

Nobody in the White House is willing to correct him, as they don't want to be taken out to the gravel pit.

Similarly, he is very confused over the word 'asylum'.

He doesn't understand the difference between the protection granted by a state to someone who has left their home country as a political refugee and an institution for the care of people with mental illness.

As a result, he continually tells his followers that South American countries are emptying their mental asylums and sending the patients over the border into the USA.

If brains were electricity, Trump would be a walking blackout.

Why not destroy a theocratic tyranny?

Why, with UN approval, nothing at all!

Instead, he's empowered a regime that brutally oppresses its own people. If you listen to DL, he never had regime change in mind to begin with.

You?

Did Hamas have UN approval to attack Israel at Iran's request.

Maybe you think that Hamas is not controlled by Iran, maybe you think Hezbolla act on their own when they bomb Israel.

So what have the UN done to these war criminals Hamas, Hezbolla and Iran, have they charged them, have they formed a united force to protect Israel, have they taken any steps to prevent them from attacking Israel.

Yeah you tell us how good the UN is. The UN is just a bunch of diplomats gorging themselves in the trough with no regard for the people. Name one thing that the UN have done to prevent any terrorism going on in the world.

The UN ended the war in Kosovo. Plenty of terrorism there, dear. Genocide too.

Your DL has just ended the global rules-based order. If Uncle doesn't want to follow the rules, why should anybody else?

Chi-na is now free to do whatever it likes, but do you know?

It's smarter than America, more careful and more unified. In a few years time, it will have left America in the shade.

All thanks to your DL.

Can you feel it?

I say, we'll let you answer that one, old boy. Why not invade a country of 92 million, an average age of 33 and over 1.5 million active troops.

The Supreme Leader is far more intelligent than your DL, dear boy, and we haven't even heard from him yet. The Persians have been planning this for years. Your DL was told many of those plans - he was too dumb to take them in.

Uncle lost wars in Afghanistan and Nam, and they weren't even as cunning as the Persians. There is no way your DL can win this one.

If I was you, I'd remember those hard-learned lessons you learned from Iraq.

Always absolutely never ever, innit.

McNamara admitted he was wrong in his strategy. He supported the invasion of Nam until he died.

The strategy was one of relentless aerial bombardment, trying to "blow the enemy back to the stone age".

The Vietnamese just moved the war underground. The mullahs are doing something similar, fighting the war on the economic front.

Classic Russian warfare. Dig in your heels and hang in there for a long fight, on your own terms.

Ukraine and now Iran are showing that superior firepower and military kit don't have to mean squat. The US has been forced to shelve the USS Gerald Ford for repairs after a fire broke out. Iran can fight on with $30,000 drones. The Gulf States are sitting ducks. Iran is all-powerful because it controls the home ground - not to mention the Strait of Hormuz.

So I'm curious. Do you support your DL's war?

That's a question.

'President Trump issued the threat on social media, writing: “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open up the Hormuz Strait. Time is running out - 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to God.”_ SMH

Ayatollah Trump is the spiritual leader and saviour of MAGA who form 33% of US with ICE. The rest are in Hell. The US has only 25% of missiles in reserve which may be Iran's salvation.

Er... what??

Labor hopeful Iran war ‘drawing to a close’ after Trump threat

The Albanese government is hopeful the war in the Middle East is “drawing to a close” as Donald Trump threatens “all hell” against Iran.

Quote:
The Albanese government is hopeful the war in the Middle East is “drawing to a close”, as the government seeks to play down concerns over Australia’s fuel supply.

Donald Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran on Saturday local time, urging the Islamic Republic reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face “all hell”.

The Republican President earlier stated, in a national address, the United States and Israel’s war on Iran would continue for two to three weeks.

Assistant Immigration Minister Matt Thistlethwaite said, in light of the President’s “timeline”, the government was “hopeful that (the war) is drawing to a close”.

Yeah, nah - somehow I don't believe Trump threatening or unleashing "all hell" (which he won't do - TACO again) will make the war "draw to a close". All it will do is piss the Iranians off even more and we will see a big escalation.

Matt needs to take off his rose colored (i.e. thinking of the economy) glasses and come back to reality.

Being an ex-serviceman I don't support war as a kneejerk reaction. However, Iran has been funding terrorism for decades now, and there is only one way to stop that. The UN hasn't tried at all. Roll Eyes

Donald the Merciful (peace be upon him and his chickens) is ever forgiving and righteous in deals. He is great in missiles, tweets and hell and blesses all who are great in oil. Pray and be thankful.

Right, so you support your DL going in, declaring victory, leaving and giving Iran the Strait of Hormuz, do you?

Is that what you had in mind?

As an ex-serviceman and everything?

Trump is insane.

Can there be any remaining doubt?

He needs to be removed from office along with the rest of his corrupt and incompetent administration.

Right now.

He's obviously panicking because it's getting close to TACO time (again).
