The term "pharaoh" originates from the Egyptian per-aa, meaning "great house," originally referring to the royal palace rather than the king himself, much like "the White House" represents the U.S. presidency. Pharaohs houses were all great again and again, in pyramids plastered with gold and the king's name in GREAT BIG LETTERS.

[The Australian pharaoh was named 'Pharaoh Nuff'.]
