According to Canadians, Europeans etc, who commit to building houses here according to Canadian/European specs, they'll tell you there isn't the culture, the expertise, or the will to build houses that are energy efficient... so the building costs according to those specs are through the roof.

Why would you even bother building a house designed for Canadian winters, unless you are in the Tasmanian highlands? It would just be hot and stuffy. Give me lots of light and fresh air instead.

Not sure if you have figures this out you, but part of what makes a house "good" is suitability for the climate it is in. A good house in Canada will be a bad house in the tropics.

Back to building affordable homes in Oz:

Menzies appreciated that the key to boosting housing supply was the reduction of building costs. He remarked that ‘by sound industrial policies, adequate supply of materials, and the steady continuity of work, the costs of building have been reduced’.

Yet, after decades of Neoliberalism, building costs are rising and housing supply is inadequate, regardless of your "McMansion" diversion.

CEO of Master Builders Association says proportion of builders in immigration quota has to quadruple from 3% to 12%.

Sounds sensible (if those builders aren't needed in the originating countries...).

It's all a lie from Albo - Isis brides & their children were bought back into Australia in October 2025 just 4 months ago.

So how does he spout this shyte when this lot have already been issued Australian passports?

He says the Govt won't be repatriating any Isis brides from Syria.

So what's the bet they get taken to Lebanon & flown to Australia?

Then technically they won't be coming from Syria & will be made out to be Lebanese migrants.

Then he'll say nothing to see here.
