Two alleged Brothers 4 Life gang members charged with firearms offences

The pair, 33-year-old Hicham Ismail and 52-year-old Abdul Aziz El-Masri, were arrested on Tuesday morning after sweeping dawn raids across Western Sydney.

Both have been charged with possessing and acquiring a pistol despite being subject to a firearms prohibition order.

The investigation into the men was sparked after police alleged they located images of them holding the weapons on the phone of a 20-year-old Brothers 4 Life associate.

The 20-year-old was originally arrested in Cartwright last November after police located a firearm, a hammer and drugs inside his Toyota Hilux.

He was charged by police at the time with a raft of offences before an examination of his phone allegedly unearthed offences committed by the other two members.

Brothers 4 Life was founded by notorious prisoner Bassam Hamzy from behind the walls of Goulburn's Supermax prison in the early 2000s.
