Police said the attack happened in a family home on James Cook Drive in Melton West on Thursday night.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the dog was a family pet and attacked the group when an argument broke out.
She said they all suffered significant, but not life-threatening, dog bites that required surgery.
Ambulance Victoria said Advanced Life Support and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance paramedics were called around 10:30pm.
A spokesperson said a male aged in his late teens was treated for lower-body injuries and taken to Sunshine Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A female in her late teens was treated for lower-body to mid-body injuries and also taken to Sunshine Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A woman in her 30s was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with injuries to her lower to mid-body.
A man aged in his 20s was treated for mid-body injuries and taken to Footscray Hospital in a stable condition
The dog was seized by a council ranger, along with a second dog at the same address.
The family has confirmed that
both dogs have been euthanased.
