Don was targeted because he's Black and gay, the perfect enemy profile to rally MAGA outrage while hand-waving away the constitutional rot. He wasn't organising unrest or inciting violence, he was covering events as an independent journalist, which is precisely why the targeting matters.

He won't be the last. MAGA's reflexive hatred of the "right" kind of person is doing the groundwork, normalising the behaviour so that when Trump and his regime move on other journalists, dissenters, or inconvenient witnesses, the base is already conditioned to shrug. By the time people on their side start getting picked up, the machinery will be too entrenched to stop easily.

It's as transparent as it is dangerous, a direct attack on the First Amendment, dressed up as law and order.

So how many amendments are on the chopping block now? The 1st, the 2nd, the 4th, the 5th and the 14th, with Trump openly eyeing the 22nd as an obstacle to be "worked around".

Is the US great yet?

Funny how the "hysterical" line always pops up when someone doesn't want to engage with the substance.

This isn't about mass arrests, it's about the principle, a journalist targeted because of who he is, identity weaponised, constitutional rights ignored, precedent being set. One, nine, or a hundred arrests doesn't change the structural danger.

This isn't hysteria, it's observation. MAGA's reflexive hatred is doing the groundwork, the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments are being challenged, and Trump is openly eyeing the 22nd.

Calling it "hysterical" doesn't make it less true, it just highlights how willing some are to ignore reality when it doesn't suit the narrative.

Normies see it, MAGA shrugs or attacks. Same pattern, same story, nothing ever changes.
