Labor gives another $50 million to Taliban

Why are Labor giving taxpayers money to the Taliban who don't let girls go to school and recently legalised slavery?

A worsening humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the Taliban’s rule has prompted a massive increase in Australia’s aid package to Afghanistan.

Australia is sending more than $50m in additional humanitarian support to Afghanistan, aiming to address the deteriorating situation exacerbated by the Taliban failing to meet basic human needs.

“The people of Afghanistan are enduring one of the world’s worst protracted humanitarian crises,” the federal government said in an announcement on Thursday.

Since the fall of Kabul in 2021, Australia has provided a total of $310 million to the people of Afghanistan.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong says the nations extra support will have a strong focus on women and girls.

“The situation in Afghanistan is dire,” she said.

Ms Wong says the Australian Government remains firmly committed to supporting the people of Afghanistan, with reports of around 22 million people in Afghanistan in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

“In Afghanistan, women and girls are facing systematic and worsening restrictions on their access to education, healthcare, employment and public life. Ensuring humanitarian assistance reaches them safely and directly remains essential,” ACFID chief executive Matthew Maury said.

Giving money to the Taliban does nothing for the Afghan people.

It's giving money to what is virtually a terrorist govt.

They use the money to grow Opium Poppy not food.

May as well donate to the Ayatollah in Iran because Albo has already given millions to Hamas.

They won't starve. It would just mean the Taliban would have to spend their money on food rather than guns and bombs. Much like Gaza.

There are even plenty of charities who will set up free schools, including meals for the children. But even they are not stupid enough to give money to terrorists and hope things will work themselves out.

Are the charities allowed to work independently of the Taliban, and say, set up girls schools? Or would they get their heads chopped off?

The same thing happened in Gaza. The money went in through charities. Hamas, a terrorist organisation, dictated who was allowed to do the work, stacked the charity with terrorists and their supporters, and stole everything they could.

To spend on guns and bombs.

How did that work out for the people of Gaza?

We saw the same complaints when people were calling for a boycott of South Africa. But what about the poor starving black children they cried. Don't they need the white government to keep them fed?

At some point you have to realise that funding terrorist organisations in the hope that some aid will get through as actual food is naive, and all you are doing is enabling their oppressors.
