No. It is a shithole sitting on a massive oil field. Did you know they recently allowed women to drive?

It wasn't that long ago that the Irish were killing each other
over whether they were Catholics or Protestants -

yet the law for all Abrahamic religions says -

thou shalt not kill.

Utter bullshit, Bobby.
The first elected President of the Republic of Ireland, Dr. Douglas Hyde was a Protestant, the voters were over 90% Catholic.
The Primate of the Church of Ireland (Protestant) lives in the predominantly Catholic Republic, because he is not safe in the Orange Order dominated British occupied Northern Ireland.
The members of the strange breed of Protestantism in Northern Ireland have certainly killed Catholics just because they were Catholic, one historical example is when the State put voting centres for Catholics in Orange Order controlled districts and Catholics who attempted to vote were shot at and if they persisted in exercising their British guaranteed rights they were shot.
Learn a bit of history.

Well, there was, y'know... the IRA... funded by the Mafia and Irish-descent New Yorkers when it was focused on killing British citizens.

Ask the Jews who said Islamization of the West is a good thing

Are you saying that Muslims are in Europe because Barbara's opinion about multiculturalism?

It's not opinion. It's policy.

And yet I guarantee you that you would have preferred to live in Ireland than Egypt. You still would. Even the worst example you can come up with is still a lot better than a typical long term Muslim majority country. This is not some random accident of history, but a consequence of the ideologies that the society is rooted in.

At least in Ireland they speak English and they have a good standard of living.

Check out Beirut - perfect climate but impoverished with no future.

Lebanon is a failed Islamic state shytehole.

Shitholes?

Saudi Arabia's GDP per capita varies slightly by source and year, but recent estimates for 2024/2025 hover around $35,000 - $35,200 (nominal) and significantly higher for Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), around $65,000 - $74,000, reflecting strong economic output relative to population, with some sources projecting even higher figures.

And as for Palestinians, you are writing them all off as one monolithic block wanting the slaughter of Jews.

Go to a long term Muslim majority country. The people there are probably very nice. Until you try to exercise all the rights you have here. Then you might end up dead or in jail very quickly. That's why they are all so polite, because they turn nasty at the slightest provocation. Politeness isn't a value or a virtue, its a survival strategy.

Yes, fundamentalist rule by government  is problematic

What was Saudi Arabia before the Westerners discovered oil for them? It's still a place where they stone women to death, chop off hands & feet....

where they have given lip service to giving women some rights to education & to drive.

in fact without the discovery of oil all the UAE & Saudis would be desert tent dwelling camel riding Bedouins.

As for your statement about Palestinians they are one monolithic block wanting the slaughter of Jews.

Never mind the fact that there is no such country as Palestine never has been nor a people called Palestinian.

No, that would be the Europeans, who've spent most of the last 2000 years slaughtering Jews for being Jews.

Palestine, never a country, eh! Before 1948, even Jews living in the region... even Zionists, referred to themselves as Palestinian Jews... why would that be?

No never a country..... just a geographical location called Syria Palestina .. named such by the Romans to punish the Jews ... to disconnect/disassociate them from the land.

The kingdom/country was Israel & Judah.

And I have oft said that if there was really a country called Palestine & a people called Palestinians then Jews would also be Palestinians.

All of the Muslim "holy sites" in Israel are fairly recent historical inventions. Mostly Muslims trying to make a bit of money of the religious fervor.

In the early years of the Zionist movement, from thelate 19th century into the first quarter of the 20th century, there was a small but steady stream of European Jewish migrants into Palestine.

Arab Muslims in the region at first tolerated this migration, but as the number of migrants began to swell, they became increasingly uneasy.

By the time Vladimir Jabotinsky redefined Zionism from its peaceful, negotiation-centric philosophy in dealing with Jewish-Muslim-Arab unease and conflict to its militant form, violent conflicts had become commonplace.

But, as Jabotinsky said, Arabs aren't fools. There's no amount of peaceful Jewish reassurance that the massive shift in demography due to Jewish immigration would not result in a political redefinition of the region, so why insult them with lies? Better to become militarily strong, then negotiate with Arabs from a position of strength.

That was the plan, anyway.

The region known as Israel & Judea was abolished around 150AD.

If even Jews once referred to themselves as Palestinian Jews, that indicates that even they acceded to the legitimacy of the region's name.

If Indonesia claimed that northern Australia was once part of the region occupied by Indonesian peoples nearly 2000 years ago, and now they want it back, would you agree?

The site of the al-Aqsa Mosque has been considered one of the holiest sites of Islam since Islam's founding.

All sites associated with the Abrahamic prophets have always been holy in Islam.

Built on the Second Temple.

The Hagia Sophia wasn't originally a mosque either. Muslims conquer and replace.

Israel is the result of Reconquista, like the reconquista of Spain, or  Greece or the Balkans. WHat particularly irks the Muslims is that it is a reconquista by the Jews who are the most odious of the infidels to them.  The Iberian terrirories or Greece and the balkans ,reconquered from the Muslims, are far larger and more popukous than Judea and Samaria but because they  were not taken back by the Jews, you hear a lot less agitation by the Muslims about them.

Needless to say, there as zero liberation movement by the palestinians while they were under Ottoman rule.

As are nearly all major Christian churches and cathedrals built on the sites of Roman temples, themselves built on the sacred sites of those they conquered...

The Spanish Reconquista also saw the exile, forced conversion, or execution of all Spanish Jews... Of course it did... when did Europeans ever pass up a chance to persecute or slaughter Jews?

Your error: modern Israel's creation was facilitated by the UN, not by national conquest as per  "might is right",  eg, when David conquered Jerusalem from a Canaanite tribe in 1100BC.
