Hebrew ya'el means ibex goat, a female. It is Babylonian ialu 'ibex', a year-old goat sacrificed each New Year (March equinox). The yale goat-lion is the chimera goat-lion-snake, where Greek chimaira (not male chimaros) is female, from Gr. chima 'winter', animal of one year.
