People aren't actually doing that. He just needs to believe they are, because the facts surrounding the attack, how it was carried out, what it means for global stability, the total lack of a plan for what comes next, the "quiet part out loud" moments that don't stop from Trump and the fact that the FIFA Peace Prize winner has now bombed his eighth country this term alone, are fundamentally unreconcilable.

So instead of engaging with reality, he distracts himself with performative bullshit to stave off the cognitive dissonance. It's easier to argue with Photoshop and satire than to confront the implications of what he's defending.

It's almost impressive watching the ideological rot complete the circle. This place went from being so openly antisemitic it was cited as a source of hate speech by the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, to now hating Muslims with such unhinged intensity that the logic has flipped entirely, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

In the process, some members have decided it's perfectly acceptable to instrumentalise the historic and ongoing suffering of Jewish people as a rhetorical weapon to justify blanket hostility towards Muslims.

That isn't solidarity, and it isn't principled opposition to extremism, it's just the same bigotry wearing a different mask, dressed up with selectively borrowed moral outrage.

Sadly, I expect nothing less from the usual suspects these day...

Well, the US defended Greenland against Nazi Germany when Denmark and Norway were occupied.

The US has a military presence in cooperation with Denmark (not NATO).

China is interested in Greenland for its natural resources. As is the EU for the same reason. The EU relies on China for rare earth needed for the European defence industry.

The US will not invade Greenland militariy as long as China is kept away. The moment Greenland or Denmark opens the door to China the US will seize Greenland. But that scenario (Greenland or Denmark preferencing China over the US) is very unlikely although not impossible.

The Greenland issue is brought to you by the words 'strategic' and 'competition' and the number 57,000 (the popuation of Greenland and Wagga Wagga).
