Cyrus freed Jewish slaves and abolished slavery.
Slavery returned when Islam conquered Iran and as we see today the Taliban recently legalised slavery.

Before the Islamic revolution in 1979 Iran was one of the few countries in that area who were friends with Israel.

If Iran can get rid of the terrorist Mullah regime they will be friends with Israel and USA.

Obviously. ISIS had an explicit policy of killing the "wrong type" of Muslims first (basically, anyone who doesn't support them), before moving on the the Jews. They wanted to overthrow every government in the area. So every government in the area opposed them. Magic.

But it still took significant western intervention to actually stop ISIS.

Iran has four types of hedgehog. It has several blowflies.
