That is true. But look at the climate change lawsuits. Copied and pasted from Sher Edling in the main. And after defeat thy rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Roll Eyes

Sher Edling is a left-leaning, plaintiff-side law firm that sues alleged polluters as well as corporations it alleges contribute to climate change catastrophes, such as rising seas, droughts, and floods. Sher Edling represents business, public agencies, cities, and states in environmental legal cases, suing what it considers to be major polluters.

Tesla is now facing a class-action lawsuit after thousands of Powerwall 2 home batteries were remotely drained to 0% and disabled due to a fire-risk recall. Some owners say they’ve been left without backup power for months — and Tesla still hasn’t given a clear replacement timeline.

In this video, I break down what actually happened, why this recall is so serious, how the lawsuit was filed, and what this means for home-energy storage going forward.

Class action lawsuit?

Doesn't consumer law cover faulty products?

But I haven't heard of any problems re the new government subsidized home battery purchase scheme.

What gives?

Hope springs eternal in the Chinese lefties chest. Apart from the subsidies going to some  home owners, but not the poor who are renting.

Can you point us to current reports of 'overheating' problems, in the rapidly growing home-battery sector?

" Incidents involving lithium battery fires are rising, with reports linked to smartphones, laptops, electric vehicles, and storage systems."

And of course household batteries are just a smaller version of BESS systems. And they have been having fires this last year. 3 since August.  Roll Eyes

Tesla loses title of bestselling EV company to BYD as sales drop

Tesla has lost its title of the bestselling electric vehicle company to Chinese rival BYD.

Expiring US tax credits, stiff overseas competition and a customer revolt against chief executive Elon Musk are said to have contributed to sales dropping.

Most quality more expensive products of originality
lose 'best selling' to cheaper lower quality mass production.

Botswana is a popular destination for single white Australian men.

Tesla are a bunch of arseholes to do that.
They should have given the customer the option of
continuing to use the suspect batteries.

The batteries could be a fire risk do you want houses to burn down?

No but the "owner" of the batteries should be the one who makes the decision
about using their "own" batteries.

They do own them don't they?

What if people die in a fire are they going to blame Tesla?

Lithium batteries have  Battery Management System most likely be a problem with that.

A software change might fix it the Geeks at Tesla would be working on a solution.

If someone died in a fire it wouldn't be Tesla's fault
if the owner was informed of the battery fault -
however I'm not a lawyer so my advice is suspect.
Maybe Aussie can chime in?

Sounds more like a hardware problem - faulty battery cells.

Hi Aussie,
surely you could have a go - it's not difficult.    Undecided

BESS systems?

The  topic is household systems.

(google)

In 2025, Australia saw a massive boom in home battery installations, with around 185,000 units installed by the end of the year under the new government rebate program, adding significant storage capacity (over 4 GWh) and far exceeding initial forecasts. The uptake, driven by the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, saw over 30,000 installations in just the first few months (July-August) and continued rapidly through the year, with major growth in states like New South Wales and Queensland

Of these, I have not heard a report of ONE fire event, have you?

So you want to display your ignorance yet again.

"Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are being installed in increasing numbers in electricity distribution networks, homes, remote area power supplies and commercial/industrial installations."

https://www.wa.gov.au/system/files/2025-07/battery_energy_storage_systems_factsh...

It is an Australian Standard.

Oh, only Australia. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

"Residential Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), often paired with solar panels, commonly use lithium-ion batteries and can present risks like fire, explosions, and chemical exposure."

https://www.fire.nsw.gov.au/page.php?id=9390

So did you mean it hasn't happened YET or will NOT happen. Roll Eyes
