"ANAO auditing DVA over compensation claims backlog - veterans can now submit evidence 🚨
The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has launched an audit into how DVA is managing the massive compensation claims backlog. They are specifically examining whether DVA has: Effectively managed the backlog Administered the claims system in a way that improves efficiency and the veteran experience Properly monitored and reported on its own performance This is not about changing policy, its about whether the system is actually being run properly. ✅ What veterans should submit They are asking for real-world evidence showing how the system operates in practice. Useful examples include: How long your claim took at each stage Periods where nothing happened - no updates, no contact Being asked multiple times for the same documents Lost paperwork, wrong advice, system or processing errors Delays caused by internal transfers, reassessments or re-work Poor communication or lack of transparency How the process impacted your health, finances or family Screenshots, letters, emails or simple timelines that back this up Facts beat feelings here - dates, examples and proof matter. 🚫 What not to submit Political opinions or policy arguments Rants without examples Complaints about legislation itself Attacks on individuals This audit is about administration and performance, not rewriting the law. 🧠 How to frame your submission Ask yourself: Does this show where the system slowed me down, failed, duplicated work, or made my claim harder than it needed to be? If yes - submit it. SUBMISSIONS CLOSE 26 JAN 26 https://www.anao.gov.au/.../managing-the-veterans...
