He rear ended a car and still carried on driving.

After he exchanged details with the other driver, yes.

It wasn't a hit and run.

So he Liberaced another car while drunk driving, got back into his car and drove off continued driving while drunk until police stopped him with RBT?

He didn't know he was over the limit.

That's what they all say.

It's no excuse

Blowing .05 is not drunk, it used to be .08 but that limit was found to bring in less revenue so was abolished and .05 installed in its place.
Blowing .05 the morning after is NOT an indication of drunkness, merely another dishonest revenue raiser.

Strange is it not that the MsP who pass these laws can be pissed out of their tiny minds when voting on legislation.

'In February 2024, Barnaby Joyce was filmed drunk on a Canberra footpath, after falling off a planter box while on a phone call, an incident he later blamed on a mix of alcohol and prescription drugs'.  Barnaby at 1.85m weighed about 86 kg, mainly beetroot.
'In Canberra, littering in a public place is illegal under the Litter Act 2004, with basic fines for individuals starting around $1,000, and larger dumping incurs much higher penalties'.

Is that a traffic offence?

Did it have the capacity to injure, maim or kill another person?

Why are you in the main an inane twat?

He didn't know he was over the limit.

Moreover, it's perfectly legal to continue on your way once you've exchanged details with the other driver in a minor accident.

Blowing 0.05 the next morning is not an indication of drunkenness, the person is not affected by alcohol.
It’s stupid law.

0.05 & above is the law.

If he had blown 0.049 he would have been let off.

They should be under the same scrutiny as most of the Australian workforce in regards to drug & alcohol testing in the workplace.

Pollies should be made to blow in the bag prior to entering the chamber......

and especially(again) after their long lunches.

When there has not been a night’s sleep before the reading.
As all alcohol is banned on firearm ranges we took particular interest in testing the morning after effects, no diminishment in dexterity or accuracy could be detected, some people shot higher scores than normal but we put that down to trying harder.
On a personal level I tested myself firing 15 aimed shots in one minute from a single shot .22 and there was no difference, scores were the same, all within a 6 inch circle at 50 metres.
