Tony Abbott is so genuine. I have bet him at different events multiple times. He definitely isn't racist. He speaks this stuff from a place of patriotism, which is colourblind.
Abbott like you and me isnt a racist but ....beware of patriotism - "the last refuge of a scoundrel".
Assimilation is difficult for Muslims while Jews claim ownership of former Palestine, resulting in the endless war there since 1948.
Legal scholars need to consider WHY Jews are considered to be
infidels in Islam, but an honest jurist is hard to find....
There is nothing wrong with patriotism.
It is nationalist sentiment which can become evil.
...just as claims by 'infidels' re ownership of Muslim land can lead to evil.
So why are Jews considered to be Infidels by Muslims?
Because they aren’t Muslims.
Well, yes , but from the view of the Koran, which sees all the OT Prophets as messengers of God, prophets whom Jews themselves rejected from time to time:
(google)
Jewish history includes instances where people rejected specific Old Testament (OT) prophets (like Jeremiah or Micaiah), often violently, because their messages challenged leadership and traditions, but Judaism fully accepts the canon of OT prophets as God's messengers, though they believe the era of prophecy ended, and they reject figures like Jesus and Muhammad as fulfilling new prophecy because they claimed to supersede Torah or diverge from core Jewish monotheismHence the clashing theologies of the "Peoples of the Book' on full display:
1. Jews rejected Christ as their long-awaited Messiah.
2. Christians deified Jesus as the Messiah, claiming him to be the Son of (the Jewish) god, via the fancy sophistry of the Trinity.
3. Muhammud rejected the deity of Jesus - the 'Son of God', considering the Trinity doctrine (3 gods in one) to be blaspemous and polytheistic.
So Jews and Muslims both reject the deity of Christ; while Muslims agree with Jews that Jahweh ('Allah' in Arabic), is the One True God, a stance rejected by Jews and Christians.
Modern (non-fundamentalist) theologions are keen to emphasize the peace message of the 3 religions; the problem post 1948 is the interaction of OT "Promised Land" fundamentalists - supported by RW Christians - against the Muslim inhabitants of Palestine, resulting in Muslim terrorism.
Making 'hate speech' a complex issue for the courts to unravel...
