Yeah, but not dealing with the root of the problem - Islamic extremism and anti-semitism.

You don't think that Israel murdering over 70,000 innocent Palistinians helps to drive anti-semitism ?

That isn't an excuse for the disgusting events at Bondi - its just an inconvinient fact and likely the current most likely driver for the disgraceful level of anti-semitism that we have been seeing.

You don't think that near-constant attacks by Hamas on Israel, missile barrages and the October 7 attack might have finally tipped Israel over the edge? Hamas fired 3,000-5,000 rockets into Israeli territory on the morning of October 7. I'm not saying that the Israeli response has been entirely acceptable. Far too many innocent Palestinian people have died, but that is largely due to Hamas using their own innocent civilian population as human shields. This isn't conjecture - it's a well known and agreed upon fact that Hamas has done this for a long time.

Israeli people just want to live in peace, but not Hamas. They will not rest until they achieve their ultimate goal of the destruction of Israel. That's all they exist for.

That is Israeli propoganda that isn't supported by the facts. They mostly bombed areas where they knew there was no Hamas presence, they were deliberately targeting innocents most of the time.

Of course what happened on Oct 7 was a disgrace but deliberately killing innocent people who had nothing to with it is hardly a justifyable response. All they achieved was to unnecessarily incentivise a world wide negative  anti-semetic response possibly contributing to events like Bondi. Just plain dumb.

The way to create peace is never by creating a few hundren thousand more active enemies. Each of those dead 70,000 plus have several family members who will now understandably continue this violence over the next generations.

They have only made it worse. They have only made the world less safe, They have only made their own people less safe.

What would you have done in response to the 7 Octobed attack when hundreds of innocent people were killed?

Stop stealing Palestinian land for starters.  Withdraw settlements from Palestinian areas of the West Bank.  Stop extra-judicial executions of Palestinieans.  Establish a fair Palestinian state.  Tsk, tsk, tsk... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The only way to beat an insurgency is to basically give into its demands in a measure, sensible, way.  Soren you have never been involved  in COIN operations have you?  The Australian Army which was successful in Vietnam, Afghanistan and elsewhere teaches that the only way to is give into its demands in a sensible, measured way.  Of course, Israel would never be sensible because of the Zionist belief in Eretz Israel.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Sorry but it is supported by overwhelming evidence and facts. Israeli forces found weapons caches and barracks rooms and other military infrastructure used by Hamas in tunnels beneath a major hospital in Gaza. It’s not a myth - it’s a well known fact that Hamas uses civilians as human shields!

Palestine - a nation with a prestigious history

Could you answer some basic questions about the country of Palestine ? :

1. When was it founded and by whom?

2. What language did the Palestinians speak?

3. What writing [script] did they use?

4. What manuscripts did they leave?

5. What was their religion?

6. Where are their temples?

7. What monuments attest to their existence?

8. What were its borders?

9. What was the name of its capital?

10. What were its major cities?

11. What constituted the basis of its economy?

12. What was the name of the currency that they used?

13. What was its form of government?

14. What achievements have they accomplished?

15. What other peoples did Palestine interact with?

16. Where can one find any [historic] records, wherein the country of Palestine and its people are mentioned?

17. What archaeological sites can one name?

18. Where can one find the recorded history of these people?

19. Whom did they conquer?, or, were conquered by?

20. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation [or doubt]?

21. What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine?

22. Can anyone name at least five Palestinian leaders before Arafat?

23. Finally, since there is no such recognised country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?

Further, why did these proud 'Palestinians' between 1948 and 1967, passively, allow themselves to be occupied by the Jordanians in the 'West Bank', and by the Egyptians in Gaza?

So surrender is the answer.  Why didn't Monash, Churchill, Stalin think of that when Chamberlaine showed the Bbwiyawnesque way.

Why didn't Charles Marten think of that or the Viennese in 1529 and 1683, Paris in 1870.

You are even more spineless and bent than I thought.

And as an aside- as an auxiliary truck driver, if indeed you did serve in the army -  in the 80s you were too late for Vietnam and too early for Afghanistan.  So once again, your crippling, ludicrous vanity and total inadequacy is on display.

COIN ops are dedicated to getting the other guy to slowly give credence to YOUR way - well - at least before you withdraw the strong arm of troops on the ground - at which point they will start over again.

Hearts and minds works until the bad guys are free to exercise their mind and get it to follow their hearts ... in the meantime any deal will do...

I was never employed as a, "auxiliary truck driver", Soren.  However, I do have a Master of Defence Studies.  I studied the lessons of Vietnam extensivelly. I followed events in Afghanistan and elsewhere, since.  You seem to heve sat on your arse and just Trolled everybody with your Bigotry, Racism and Islamophobia.  Tsk, tsk, tsk... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
