Stricter gun laws might help.

I find this all very depressing.
I always thought of Australia as place that people come to
as a sanctuary away from the horrors of the Middle East wars but
instead the wars have come here.
It seems that the Islamic State has succeeding in turning their ideas into a global war
and we are all now targets for their terrorism.
There seems to be no appetite to round up all the Islamic hate preachers
and the people who attend their daily lectures,
and our security agencies have dropped the ball.
We're exposed and vulnerable with no end in sight.

IMHO, UAVs for police are the smart way to go.

NOTE: These videos are not current, mini drone technology has developed since then.

Examples above show surveillance drones but UAVs also can be use as loitering munition with non-lethal stun grenades (flash/sound) or tear gas grenades or as taser equipment.

Expect the Mussos to use drone bombs in future attacks here.
They're cheaper than guns and can be used from little white vans blocks away with "Alu Ahkbar" coming from within.

Ban the Drones?
Not the Mussos.

Just you watch.

Officers are trained not to fire with human backdrops regardless of distance.

Absolutely, after all ISIS in Syria were first to use small attack drones.

Australian police should learn not only to use drones but also anti drone techniques and tactics.

THE three elderly women who were shot by police in Hornsby Mall yesterday have been offered $30,000 each by the State Government as part of the Victims of Crime scheme.

Hornsby state liberal MP Matt Kean told the Hornsby Advocate he had spoken to the Attorney General’s Department today to confirm that the women, aged between 60 and 80, were eligible for the assistance.

Jeez - I didn't know the counter-revolution against feminism had gone that far.. I always advocate peaceful means.... but this was a government false flag op to get hold of their houses for the market....

I'm surprised it's taken this long for a conversation to take place about this. Most cop cars in the US have a rifle locked in a cradle that can be accessed by an officer when more firepower is needed than just their service hand gun. Had those Police been given access to such guns prior to yesterday, the death toll may well have been significantly lower.

Bollards & long rifles wouldn't be necessary if it wasn't for 2 issues - mass immigration of Muslims & Islamists.

And sure enough on yesterdays news authorities are are saying Sajid & Naveed Akram acted alone.....

the old Alpha Lone Wolf & the Lone Wolf cub.

Waddaloadabullshyte.

Predictable down playing of the extent of Islamist activism & the rise of anit-Semitism pushed by the Imam hate preachers in Islamic centres in Australia today.

Police need a change of uniform for starters.
Blue is the colour of all things Medical, let alone Europe.
White is the colour of Law/Politics.
They should really be uniformed as Stormtroopers. Cheesy

The most likely rifle given to police in an urban situation would likely be in a 9mm. Steyr or simllar.

The Steyr rifle uses a 5.56×45mm NATO round.

They'll definitely help, but they won't completely solve the problem.

We'll always have idiots like this who will manage to get their hands on guns.

...

...

But yeah, stricter laws will help.

Yes. Guns in the hands of ADF soldiers and Australian Police and Farmers are going off right now of their own accord killing hundreds of thousands of Australians.
...it's not Islam.
