Way cool. Last year I watched a lot of abandoned location clips of exploration. Most of them were themed on supernatural and ghost (hoaxing) publicity which can sometimes be entertaining. Mostly Russian and USA. USA mostly had negro bums residing in them and a lot of it vandalised and being full of scrappers for $$. The Russian sites were more pristine like that one.

In my younger days I would prowl sites all around Sydney. No place could keep me out. My favourites were the old Pyrmont Powerhouse Station (where Google was thinking about building there), the now gone Glenquarrie Quarry, turned landfill tip and inner city tall buildings under construction (got heaps of tools).

The best time to prowl is in the rain.
No-one can hear you, see you or want to go out and look for you.
Many a time in downpour, I passed just metres in front of Security and even cops in their cars or entry boxes.
Hell, me and a mate walked right past security sleeping at the Lodge in Kirribilli when Keating was PM. We lived 4 doors down. The cops always did a round at 3am on the dot. Three days later on the front page Daily Telegraph was a picture of the sleeping guard. Obviously they reviewed their camera footage.  Grin Grin

Very good Russian SF movie about this

Quote:
Based on the novel "Roadside Picnic" by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (probably the best Russian SF writers). The Zone that arose on Earth for unknown reasons attracts attention with inexplicable phenomena that occur there. A rumor has spread that in the center of the Zone there is something that gives a person everything he wants. But staying in the Zone is deadly, and therefore it is strictly guarded. There, each for their own reasons, the Writer and the Professor go, the Stalker leads them to the mysterious center, feeling and understanding the Zone

Have you seen the Polish Escape to the Silver Globe?

Made in the Soviet 1980s. It's as mad a sci fi as you can get. Some footage was taken by authorities and lost, which resulted in the director just adding in him walking around a polish city narrating into the storyline. This movie was hidden for a long time.

Was chatting with a lady yesterday whose son has been fighting for Ukraine for three years now.  Interesting stories.

Told her of that Polish guy who was asked - "How does it feel to kill a human being?"... and he replied... "I have no idea - I only kill communists."

Sounds like Nazi propaganda in WW2 except it was "kill communists.and Jews".

Of course the fact is that Russia got rid of communism 36 years ago.
