Yep, another spectacular failure.

They tried to pin it directly on Obama, banking on the idea that his black skin alone would sour voters on the whole thing. But the moment it actually launched, when people discovered they now qualified for coverage they'd never had, or suddenly found it far more affordable, the script flipped. Instead of becoming a liability, it became something they positively associated with Obama.

Their cynical little race-baiting gambit backfired the second reality intruded.
