Good on Trump. America's little Battler against Leftism failure and capitulations that blame somebody else.

You know the evil drug dealers trying to poison USA citizens will next try to use boats full of illegals as human shields to smuggle the drugs in while the Lefties on here support their emotional blackmail efforts just like they did with Hamas.

It's bad enough that New Zealand Leftism has control of Australia via the ALP and the Rainbow 🌈 Warrior Greens. One Nation just floats their boat.

Battler against Leftism

You do understand that for the majority of his life Trump was a leftist.

Trump isn't a leftist or a rightist he is an opportunist. Trump became a republican simply because he could buy the republican party when the democrat party wasn't for sale.

Pretty much as simple as that. Trump believes in whatever puts money in his pocket. There is no moral or ethical position at all that is irrelivant.

Correct partly.

Trump is popular with the unions. He is a big spender. He is NOT  into austerity.

Trump understands that Americans are big spenders

China, Japan, south Korea.germany....no kids and they NEED  consumers. They work hard .make all this stuff and their standard of living plummets if no one buys it

The yanks are their only hope or they are screwed.

So they do what the big fella wants or he cuts off their markets.

He also gets people's self interest ( he is a living role model for self interest)

Latinos voted for him in record numbers.
Why.
Because Trump understood Mexicans DO NOT WANT  more Mexicans crossing the border when they already have a seat at the table.
In fact latinos are the biggest supporters of closing the border AND ONLY want family reunification and just for their family.

He must have studied them
Certainly kamela did not study them

And were then illegally detained and deported. Yes there are dumb people out there and they do seem to be easily tricked by Donald.

Quote:
Trump has donated to both Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris.

When Hillary Clinton ran for president in 2008, Donald Trump donated to her campaign and raved about her White House credentials. She is “very talented, very smart,” he said.

Trump is popular with the unions.

Nothing could possibly be less true or more the opposite.

Remember the last election when Trump paid for a room full of people to pretend to be union members?

...

Trump is the biggest union-buster in U.S. history

Since Inauguration Day, the Trump administration has taken a flurry of actions that have put our federal agencies, economy, and democracy at risk. One alarming line of attack that directly threatens workers’ economic security has been on labor unions and workers’ right to engage in collective action.

Poor gweg is wrong again

Trump’s appeal among some union members (not usually union leadership) comes from a mix of economic, cultural, and political factors. Here’s the breakdown of why he is popular with parts of the labour-union rank and file:

---

1. Economic Populism and Protectionism

Many blue-collar union members work in manufacturing, mining, construction, transportation, and similar sectors that have been affected by offshoring and trade competition.

Trump’s positions resonate because he:

Promises to restore manufacturing jobs

Criticizes free-trade agreements (NAFTA, TPP)

Pushes tariffs to protect U.S. industry

Frames himself as fighting for “forgotten workers”

To workers who feel economically insecure, this message can feel more concrete than traditional political rhetoric.

---

2. Cultural and Social Identity

A large share of union membership today is white, male, and working-class, especially in the private sector (Teamsters, building trades, etc.).
Trump appeals to some of these voters through:

Cultural conservatism

Support for gun rights

Tough-on-crime messaging

Anti-elitism and anti-establishment language

Many union members vote on social or identity issues, not purely union-policy issues.

---

3. Distrust of Union Leadership

In several unions, especially the building trades, there is often a disconnect between union leadership (which typically supports Democrats) and rank-and-file members, who may feel leadership is too political or too liberal.

Some union members feel:

Leadership is out of touch

Leaders are too aligned with the Democratic Party

Trump speaks “directly” to workers in plain language

This gap lets Trump appeal to workers even when their unions officially oppose him.

---

4. Immigration and Jobs

Trump’s hard line on immigration appeals to some workers who fear that:

Cheap labor lowers wages

Employers use undocumented workers to undermine unions

Job competition is hurting their livelihoods

This concern is pronounced in industries like construction, food processing, trucking, and some manufacturing sectors.

---

5. Anti-Establishment Appeal

Some union members simply like Trump’s posture as a disruptor who challenges political insiders, Wall Street, and global corporations—even if his policies aren’t always pro-union.

They see him as:

“Standing up” to Washington

Willing to fight

Not polished or scripted

Anti-PC and confrontational

This anti-elite tone resonates with workers who feel marginalized.

---

6. Personal Perception of Economic Outcomes

Some union members believe they did better financially during Trump’s presidency, especially during the pre-COVID economy, and credit him with:

Low unemployment

Rising wages (in some sectors)

Strong stock market and consumer confidence

Whether or not Trump caused these conditions, the perception matters politically.

---

7. Certain Unions Are More Inclined Toward Trump

Some specific types of unions have pockets of strong Trump support, especially:

Building trades (plumbers, pipefitters, carpenters, electricians)

Police and some first-responder unions

Some Teamsters locals

Coal, oil, gas, and mining unions

These groups tend to be more conservative or tied to industries Trump strongly supports (fossil fuels, heavy construction, trucking).

---

In Short

Trump is popular with some union members because he appeals to their economic anxieties, cultural identity, anti-elite sentiment, and perceptions of job security.
This popularity is mostly among rank-and-file members, not union leadership, who generally oppose his labour policies.

Unless he issues a lot of pardons between now and when he leaves office at the end of this term, there will be a great many people in his administration facing criminal charges.

Who did  face criminal charges after British seized an Iranian oil tanker in Mediterranean Sea and Estonians attempted to seize vessel Jaguar, sailing under the Gabon flag to the port of Primorsk in Russia?

He's not, though.

Trump isn't popular with unions or their members.

He's popular with the MAGA faction within unions, the same crowd already voting enthusiastically against their own material interests, so of course they don't recognise that he's a direct threat to the very organisations that actually safeguard their wages, conditions, and rights.

Or, more realistically, they do know the damage he does but are perfectly willing to cop all the negatives in exchange for the cheap thrill of being openly racist and bigoted toward whichever groups of Americans they've decided to despise this week.

There's nothing complex to untangle here, nothing that requires a sociological deep-dive. It's just transparent hate propped up by staggering stupidity, and anyone insisting otherwise is only trying to launder the obvious.

I just noticed in your original post that you just asked AI to tell you what you wanted to hear Scoot... You're getting lazy...

Strange. Only a few months ago, you were getting your hair shirt dry-cleaned in preparation. There you were, stocking up on tins, clearing out the back paddock for a vegie patch, transferring your super into gold.

You were looking forward to a life of AUSTERITY. Bring it on, you said.

Luckily, the big fella went with plan A instead: tax cuts for the billionaires, private deals with the Saudis and a big, gold ballroom for all his fabulous parties and events.

You need to study him, no? Five years is the minimum.
