I worked with a really good guy for 17 years before I worked out that he was Muslim. I played Rugby League with some Muslim Guys and they were fine. Never had a Muslim person try to get me to adopt anything into my life.

To this point I have had no direct need to support or oppose anything related to Islam in my life.

So if you had no personal experience of an ideology you cannot formulate a judgement about it.

No the fact is that my interaction with the religon has been positive.

Yoh mean you had no interaction with thd religion.

You mean that reacting positivly with Muslim people over decades and having no problem doesdn't count ?

I mean if you didnt know they were Muslims then obviously they were not behaving like devout Muslims or even cultural Muslins. There was nothing Muslim about them.

The racially motivated views being expressed at that time by the same people seem to have not matured at all over the 20 years since same people same racial positioning.

Cronulla was a clash of cultures, not of races. It is always a clash of cultures.

It is described as a series of race riots

It was between a group of youths of Middle Eastern descent and young Lebanese men and originally the local life guards and the local community's youth. It was never specifically about Muslims they were percieved as Lebanise youth. You do remember this? right?

THe Muslim-led demos after 7 October, the Harbour Bridge march, the occupation of university campuses and vandalism have nnbeen the continuation of the Muslim convoys and vandalism and rioting in response to Cronulla.

Lebanese Muslim thugs and bullies who harrassed beach goers were put in their places 20 years ago. Now they are marching on the Bridge, stading political candiadates, are in Parliament.

What I find rerehensible is that Australians are easily manipulated by the media, by certain political parties, to commit violence at the drop of a hat.
