Let me guess, the left are going to go ballistic.
Who's first, John or maybe sadroo.
A bit light on attention today, Leroy?
The thread title is deliberately misleading, he hasn't cancelled anything. He's simply as desperate for attention as you are right now.
It's also highly doubtful he even has the legal authority to do it. The use of an autopen, or similar device, by US presidents has a long and uncontroversial history. Past presidents, including Barack Obama, Thomas Jefferson and others, used them without issue.
There is no constitutional requirement that pardons or most executive actions be personally hand-signed by the president to be valid.
And pardons in particular are a brick wall for him: once granted and accepted, they're traditionally considered final and irrevocable. There's no recognised legal mechanism that allows a later president to nullify them because of the signature method.
Trump should be thankful for that.
One 1869 court ruling is repeatedly cited: once a pardon is complete, there is no power to revoke it, regardless of how it was signed.
So this whole thing is a nothing story cooked up by a President whose polling numbers are in freefall, who's drowning in scandals, from his entanglements with child sex traffickers and he protecting of them (and/or himself) by supressing and redacting the Epstein files, to ignoring lawful court orders that led to the injurry and deaths of US soldiers, to his visibly declining health, and who is desperate for something, anything, to spin as a win and whip the deplorables back into a frenzy.
And as we can see with the reactions from the usual suspect, it's working, and they won't care that he can't legally do any of this.
It's presidential cope, dribbling down his leg to the MAGA faithful who've been copping a relentless barrage of losses lately, which makes this even funnier, because by design, it's already a loss unless he breaks the law. Again.
