Aaahh, finally on news, we surpassed a 17 year record for power demand! Hence all the outages!
And they keep closing down power stations!

Our Green energy can't cope.

I blame Labor.

I have an airconditioner in this room here. But it does not do much good. I could block off the hallway with a curtain and close the door to the tv room, and that does help keep the room comfortable. But, given that the airconditioner is so ageing, it is just better to endure the weather, rather than the electricity invoice.

Not only that but you also become prisoner in your aircon home and suffer more when  have to work outdoors.

'42.7°C in Melbourne just before 5pm, where the hottest air arrived later in the afternoon. Earlier, Australian Open matches on outside courts were suspended under the tournament’s extreme heat policy.'

Tennis Australia noted that the event was warm last year. It was warm the year before that in the Aust Open and rumours spread that it was linked to summer. (It gets warm in summer.) (In Australia). A spokesman hinted that this may be discussed at next year's pre-match chat.  Any comments on summer are welcome.

I've worked in the territory .

After learning to cope with that SEQ even at 39 is a piece of cake .

I've found those Columbia quick dry shirts are fantastic. He sweat really evaporates off them well.

I think they use some new polyester omni wick . Omni shade . Technology.

The barra fishos in the territory all wear them

Europeans at 42d. in tennis look like drips. There are other months such as May, October or July. There are 11 months. All are cooler than January.  Tennis is cool.

January is typically the hottest month in Melbourne, with average daily maximum temperatures around 27.4, often exceeding 40during summer heatwaves. February is a close second, with similar, slightly more humid, and often sunny, hot conditions.  Hot people feel hot.

I have the aircon running right now, and the day has been quite reasonable. If I had to work outside, as is the case tomorrow, I will acclimatise in a short period of time.

I’m finding the weather warm but it’s summer.

I use a fan on the sticky hot days.

Mostly at night.

I avoid the afternoons western sun.

That’s when it gets really warm up here.

Everything is relative.
When there is 50+ in shade go out  and stand under sun for half an hour or so then come back into shade and enjoy the relative coolness.
Repeat till you become complete troppo or dead  Wink

Finally, it’s raining and a nice constant rain.
What a relief!
Everything is so dry and yellow.
It’s been a long time since we had a decent rain since last year at some point. Can’t even remember last time it rained, we had such oppressive heat.

Very nice here in Perth at the moment, especially for February.

Although I do believe tropical cyclone Mitchell (now ex tropical cyclone) is responsible.

I'll enjoy the "cooler" weather while it lasts.  Smiley
