Where you look top right from the picture - you see 'Nearby Radars' - you can just follow those to your local and then bookmark it. Just push arrows until you are local.

It was 3 degrees C this morning in Melbourne.

The toilet room has been a bit of a bitch with the plywood and towel that I cover the window, seemingly falling down everyday. I have to just close the door to the toilet to ward off the cold coming in through the window. Going to enjoy sleeping through the morning.

Still in shorts though. 3 bream in 30 minutes. Nothing I could be bothered to kill or eat. Winter must start soon? Snow down south with a southern breeze will cause extreme cold up here ( might have to wear jeans thongs will still be okay ) for two weeks!

I had gone for a walk last night in the cold (no jacket). But I came home and had some food before going to bed. Got out of my long pants and shirt. Laid in bed. It took me 10 minutes to warm up enough before I fell asleep. Kept waking up in the night shivering. It did not get below 13°C all night. Maybe it is the wog that I have causing me to feel colder.

That's true but there was little wind - it's just a typical Melbourne winter's night.

It will be 5 C tonight.

It takes a southerly breeze to get our temperatures down. The wind was sufficiently gusty enough last night that I was feeling cold enough (even without my jacket) to wish I was rugged up. I have just had a hot shower before, and I feel good right now. It did not get above 24°C today.

I have given up on expecting a cold snap this year. We can write this winter off as a warm one.

I was talking in terms of the usual pattern of an elonged perpendicular high pressure system to drags the cold from the Antarctic right up into the tropics. When I see negative temperatures in Victoria, particularly in Melbourne, I know that it is going to be cold in the morning up here (around 5°C).

"Tropics" be damned in terms of how warm it is here during the winter. We get as much as 2 months of cool to cold weather here. Then it is temperate to hot weather the other 10 months of the year. Some years, we get 2 weeks of cool to cold weather. This year, there have only been a few sub-10°C nights. And whilst there is a forecast for colder weather next week, we might not see a winter with 2 weeks worth of sub-10°C temperatures. It is another warm winter.
