Pauline Hanson wears the Burqa
Nov 24th, 2025 at 3:30pm

Pauline Hanson has worn a black Burqa into the Senate chamber, after a she was denied leave by the government to table a bill to have burqas and full-face coverings banned in Australia,

...

This is the second time in her career where she has worn the Burqa in parliament.

This time around there was uproar with people like Penny Wong condemning her.

But why was she condemned? Penny Wong only moments beforehand voted against introducing the bill banning such outfits. That vote indicates she has no issue with people wearing it.

Good one!

Obviously NOT "a woman's choice what she wears".

There was no debate or vote on banning the Burqa, but it looks like the Senate will sanction Pauline Hanson for wearing it.

If they are so offended by the Burqa, perhaps they should ban it!

They will endorse the burqa - but 'ban' Hanson for wearing one.

I wonder what reason they will give for sanctioning her?

It doesn't matter if she was in the right.
What matters is that Leftism has the power to do what 'they' like.
Only power is right now.

Members of the Greens and the crossbench were furious, with independent senator Lidia Thorpe heard telling the chamber “someone should rip her head off”.

“This is a racist senator, displaying blatant racist and Islamophobia … and someone should pull her up on that,” Mehreen Faruqi said.

Fatima Payman said: “She is disrespecting a faith, she is disrespecting the Muslims out there, Muslim Australians. It is absolutely unconstitutional. This needs to be dealt with before we proceed.”

So wearing a burqa is disrespectful, unconstitutional, wacist, islamophobic!!! And do it must not be banned!!

Quote:
Why did Muslim-majority Tajikistan ban the hijab?

24/06/2024

The ban on headscarves in Tajikistan is seen as a reflection of the political line that the government of president-for-life Emomali Rahmon has been pursuing since 1997.

Tajikistan's government passed a law banning the hijab, the latest in a string of 35 wide-ranging religion-related acts, in a move described by the government as "protecting national cultural values" and "preventing superstition and extremism".

The law, approved by parliament's upper house Majlisi Milli last Thursday, bans the use of "foreign clothing" — including the hijab, or head covering worn by Muslim women.

Instead, Tajikistan citizens are encouraged to wear Tajik national dress.

Those violating the law are set to be fined on a scale ranging from 7,920 Tajikistani somoni (almost €700) for ordinary citizens, 54,000 somoni (€4,694) for government officials and 57,600 somoni (about €5,000) if they are a religious figure.

Similar laws passed earlier this month affect several religious practices, such as the centuries-old tradition known in Tajikistan as "iydgardak," in which children go door-to-door to collect pocket money on Eid holidays.

The decision was seen as surprising, as the central Asian country of some 10 million is 96% Muslim, according to the last census in 2020.

Turning mosques into tea houses
In Tajikistan, the government of president-for-life Emomali Rahmon has had its sights set on what they describe as extremism for a long time.

After a peace deal to end a five-year civil war in 1997, Rahmon — who has been in power since 1994 — first found a way to coexist with the opposition Tajikistan Islamic Resurrection Party (TIRP), which was granted a series of concessions.

After first banning the hijab in public institutions, including universities and government buildings, in 2009, the regime in Dushanbe pushed for a number of formal and informal rules meant to prevent neighbouring countries from exerting influence but also strengthen its control over the country.

While there are no legal restrictions on beards in Tajikistan, multiple reports state that law enforcement has forcibly shaved men sporting bushy beards, seen as a potential sign of someone's extremist religious views.

The Law on Parental Responsibility, which entered into force in 2011, penalises parents who send their children to religious education abroad, while according to the same law, those under 18 are banned from entering places of worship without permission.

A 2017 statement by the Tajikistan Religious Affairs Committee said that 1,938 mosques were closed down in just one year, and places of worship were converted into tea shops and medical centres, for example.

In 2004, France introduced legislation prohibiting wearing "symbols or clothes through which students conspicuously display their religious affiliation," including the hijab, in public primary schools, middle schools, and secondary schools, but not its universities.

Italy has banned the hijab-like swimsuit, also known as the "burkini", from its pools and beaches since 2009.

In addition, Germany, Belgium, Norway and Bulgaria all have laws prohibiting the use of face-covering garments, known as burqas, in schools or public institutions.

Several Muslim-majority countries have banned the burqa and hijab in public schools, universities, or government buildings, including Tunisia (since 1981, partially lifted in 2011), Kosovo (since 2009), Azerbaijan (since 2010), Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

https://www.euronews.com/2024/06/24/why-did-muslim-majority-tajikistan-ban-the-h...

A muslim majority country bans Hijab to prevent superstition and extremism.

Last census showed nearly 40% of Australians have no religion and Pauline is the only one sticking up for us against these superstitions that lead to extremism. Roll Eyes

We can't even talk about this the bedwetters in Parliament try to appease Islamic extremists.

Hanson complaining about the "ill treatment of women"?   Grin

Pauline Hanson says convicted rapist is "a good man".

3 mins to 3 mins 8 secs:

https://www.4bc.com.au/podcast/no-way-pauline-hanson-shuts-down-rumours-of-a-pre...

"Black raped the woman after she told him to stop physically abusing her in October 2007.

"He also pushed her down the stairs and kicked her. In another incident, he slammed a door on her fingers."

Hanson: “I stand by this man and he won’t be getting sacked.”

Sheik Hilaly did say after the Sydney gang rapes if these women were at home wearing their hijabs they wouldn't have been raped.

Faruqi Payman and Thorpe agree with banning the Burqa now they have to not limit it to Pauline.

Just to show how the Media Leftism has degraded Australian politics.
Both Hanson & Thorpe are prime examples of 'shock jocking' for publicity. They are basically just trolls like Gwoggy.

...every day, Gwoggy stands up in parliament to cry "Rape".

She always has been. She's abhorrent. You need good verbal communication skills for Politics and she talks like she has dysentery.
From day one, it was never about entering politics with her. It was about entering the Media.
Take into account that Australian politics is the reverse of USA - where independent States unify 'up' into One nation. We have always started as one nation (via British sponsorship) and our progression is down into many individuals States, down to Shires, etc.
Hanson's stupid One Nation is both backwards and selling snow to a snowman. She is a complete twit and parasite like Thorpe.

Trade between the States here, when each State had something different (and culturally) to offer, created a more vibrant domestic economy.

If Fatty Payman can wear a foreign clown garb in parliament, why can't anyone? Lividia or Ken Wyatt could wear animal furs in parliament to great applause. Maori buffoons can have face tattoos in parliament and perform their ridiculous haka.

Suspending Hanson means that Parliament effectively banned the burqa IN parliament but refuses to consider banning it anywhere else.  Hanson is right  to call them total hypocrites.

All she wanted to table a bill for debate so the burqa can be debated in parliament. They refused to debate it  and simpy banned the wearing of it IN parliament.

It's the prop that was banned from parliament, and in this case it just so happened to be a burqa.

Hanson isn't a Muslim and she doesn't wear a burqa in everyday life.

Thus, her actions were just a stunt and the burqa was used as a prop - that's not allowed in parliament.

The same thing would happen if she wore traditional Aboriginal animal furs, a kippah, or a turban.

1.  So the burqa is a racist, misogynist, disrespectful prop and it is NOT the woman's choice to wear it if she  wants to.

2.  Hanson also managed to send a message directly to the 15 per cent of voters opinion polls show support her Reform-like One Nation party, more than double the vote share it achieved in Australia’s general election last May. The centre-right Liberal and National coalition parties are in electoral freefall, not least because they are seen as weak and divided on mass immigration, and multiculturalism versus assimilation. Hanson sees the burka ban as an opportunity to appeal to these disenchanted supporters.

What Hanson didn’t get was a fair hearing as an elected senator which, like it or not, she is. She has a right to propose legislation and to seek its parliamentary debate. Hanson was denied the chance to speak by the president of the Senate, shouted down by other senators, and generally ridiculed by the Australian media.

...

The burqa is not any less ridiculous and offensive outside parliament than in parliament.

Again, it's not about the burqa, it's about it being used as a prop in a stunt.

Moreover, the ridiculousness of a piece of clothing is entirely subjective.

Yet we see our Prime Minister wearing culturally appropriated clothing all the time.

Lefty hypocrisy.

The Burka has no place in our society.

It is not a religious garment. It's an oppressive patriarchal tool demanded by men who do not trust themselves ......

why? they can't trust themselves or their fellow Muslim men not to rape women.

They should be your favourites.

Again, it's not about the burqa, it's about it being used as a prop in a stunt.

Moreover, the ridiculousness of a piece of clothing is entirely subjective.

Coming from a bigger idiot - you. Wearing a keffiyeh in parliament is wearing a terrorist supporting nationalist piece of clothing.

Albanese wearing an ultra rightwing Hindu Nationalist Organisations scarf has nothing to do with respect when he wears it in Australia.

Props are OK when Lidia Fatima and Mehreen wear a Keffiyeh a bit of a double standard here.

Only if they are wearing as a prop to offend others

The burqa is worn as a prop to offend others everywhere in Australia.
In Australia it has absolutely no other function but to offend.

If Hanson went into the senate in a suit and tie nobody would bat an eyelid.

If she went in with a t shirt saying treaty now, or say yes to the voice or Net Zero Now or END Coal Now - clapping, nodding.

But demonstrating just how disrespectful, divisive, and degrading the  over the top (!) Islamic garb as a political statement is -  she gets banned!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The bints and bastards in the Senate are running from even discussing the meaning of the burqa in a secular society - so they ban Hanson for wearing it, supposedly in support and respect for bints who wear it OUTSIDE parliament.

Led by Penny Wrong, Faruqi and Lividia.

Islam is the new trans.

Parliament IS for political statements. Hanson made a political statement about the abject hypocrisy of the political class, examplified by Pussy Wrong, Faruqi and Lividia: they banned the burqa in support of it, FFS!! They are as stupid, moronic, snivellingly self-contradictory as you, creepy wanker.

As it has been pointed out, bints have been wearing keffiyas, possum skins, kangaroo skins, etc

Parliament IS for politics and the burqa is a political statement in Australia. There is absolutely no reason to wear it anywhere in Australia except to make a political statement. If you think the people of Australia are just like the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan and so you have to wear a burqa to protect yourself from them -  they what the bloody hell are you doing here???  **** right off back to Pakistan and Shitholeistan.

The burqa is a political statement evewywhere, in and out parliament. Which is is why it it is banned in quite a few countries.

It's the use of a prop that was offensive.

Plus, it was a stunt.

There are a couple there that could benefit from a burqa - to hide them away.... and a few who need a moral burqa... and the sun drew the clouds over his eyes to cover the visual stench ..... and the moon hid behind a veil of stars.... for now they knew what loathsome beasts had slouched to Bethlehem ....

Pauline Hanson Unbothered by Suspension: “I Stand My Ground for Australians”

One Nation  November 25, 2025

Pauline Hanson has made it clear she is not worried about her one-week suspension from the Senate, standing firm on her beliefs despite backlash from all sides of politics. The transcript shows Hanson completely unfazed, refusing to bow to political pressure or attempts to silence her.

Hanson was suspended for seven sitting days after entering Parliament wearing a burqa  a move she says highlights serious concerns about women’s rights and national security. While Labor, Liberal, and Greens senators condemned her and voted for a censure motion, Hanson didn’t flinch.

Her comments reflect a broader sentiment across the country: Australians are tired of politicians who refuse to confront tough issues. Hanson’s defiance — even in the face of suspension shows exactly why One Nation continues to gain support.

The transcript also notes Hanson’s strategic engagement with Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce, fuelling speculation he could defect to One Nation another sign that the major parties may be losing control of their own ranks.

For Pauline Hanson, the suspension is meaningless compared to the responsibility she feels to speak for everyday Australians. She has made it clear that no ban, censure, or criticism will silence her fight for transparency, security, and the rights of all Australians.

One Nation’s message is stronger than ever:
When Parliament tries to silence Pauline Hanson, she speaks even louder  and Australians are listening.

The burqa is a  political prop and a stunt EVERYWHERE in Australia.  THere is ZERO legitimate reason for wearing it anywhere in Australia or any other Western country. It is prop to demonstrate hatred and total disrespect for Australia and its people, values customs.  Which is why Hanson wants to at least debate it's banning.

It should be ridiculed and shamed out of existence in Australia, Europe, Northe America.

Hanson Cartoon "Too Offensive" for Parliament!

Pauline Hanson’s satirical film A Super Progressive Movie was banned from screening at Parliament House for being potentially offensive.

The ban is another example of free speech being crushed by woke bureaucrats terrified of the truth.

Apparently, you can wear the symbols of Islamic terror in Parliament and escape criticism or censure.

You can threaten to burn Parliament down and escape censure.

But you can’t wear a simple burqa and escape censure.

I never really expected anything else from these progressive weaklings.

My intention was never to offend, but simply to expose their hypocrisy.

And – oh my – was I successful.

I was never going to win that vote in Parliament, but it never mattered.

I’ve won the people.

And apparently you can’t even show a movie trailer in Parliament lampooning these ‘progressives’ because that will ‘offend’ them too.

This isn’t my first rodeo.

Idiot progressives will arbitrarily and selectively take offence at anything, hiding behind their contrived victimhood so they are never forced to debate these issues in a truly open contest of ideas.

They can’t win a debate like that on any issue precious to them, so they will always try to shut it down first.

What is sad is that the very seat of Australian democracy, whose officials should be utterly dedicated to upholding important democratic principles like free speech, do not understand it.

People always fear what they don’t understand, and Parliament has shown it in spades by cancelling our screening at the last minute.

It is incredibly important for people to be able to see the face.

Woman cannot give evidence in a niqab, Australian court rules

Moutia Elzahed, whose husband was convicted of aiding terrorism, is denied request in her damages claim against police

1 December 2016

An Australian judge has declined a request from a Muslim woman to wear a niqab while giving evidence in a damages claim against police where she alleges that officers assaulted her during a raid on her home.

On Tuesday in the New South Wales district court, Judge Audrey Balla ruled on a request from Moutia Elzahed to wear her niqab while giving evidence to the court, in what may by one of the first rulings of its kind in Australia.

[...]

Counsel for the NSW police, Michael Spartalis, said it was their preference that she gave evidence without her face covered.

“Facial expressions is a very important part of giving evidence and, as I understand, it in these courts, in New South Wales at least, my understanding or recollection was that if you are here, you must show your face,” he said.

Jacinta Price wears Australian flag Greens are offended she has to remove it.

Pauline wears Burqa Greens and Leftards are outraged she had to remove it.

idiots claim it's a prop yet nothing is said about dead fish Greens senator Hanson Young brought in of Keffiyehs worn by Green senators.

Lefties say women should be able to choose what they wear yet are outraged when Pauline chose a Burqa and made her the only person in Australia banned from wearing it in Parliament.

Labor DEI hire Payman supports Burqa despite it not being a part of Afghan culture.

If Pauline visited Fatimas homeland she would be forced to wear the Burqa despite not being a muslim.

Massisve hypocrisy from the Left on this.

Hanson attempted to move a private member’s bill to ban the burqa and all full-face coverings, arguing it is vital for national security and women’s rights. When Labor, Liberal and the Greens refused to even debate it, Pauline made a bold point: if Parliament won’t discuss banning the burqa, why do they ban it being worn inside the Senate?

But Penny Wong said it was racism for Pauline Hanson to wear the burqa to prove a point.

What side is Penny Wong on? The side of women or the side of men who subjugate their wives?

...

A fantastic story by the Daily Mail, highlighting the facts.

Quote:
In the first image, you see an Australian MP wearing a burqa in Parliament to debate banning the burqa for women.
In the second image, it’s me and my friend, two women who have actually lived under the reality of forced burqas and hijabs imposed by the Taliban and the Islamic Republic appearing in an American TV.

Now I learned that the debate on Banning the burqa wasn’t even allowed onto the floor of the Australian Senate. I understand these issues can feel politically risky. But let’s be honest: for us women of Iran and Afghanistan who lived under forced hijab and burqa, this is not an abstract political debate, it is the reality we survived.
We were suffocated by it.

I was beaten by Iran’s morality police for showing my hair.
Afghan and Iranian girls have been lashed, even killed, just for talking about their rights.
And even thousands of miles away, we face assassination plots for the “crime” of asking for a debate on forced hijab.

This isn’t culture.
It’s oppression, exported globally.

What some call “culture,” we recognize as gender apartheid enforced by the Taliban and the Islamic Republic.

This is why I want to extend an invitation to you
@PaulineHansonOz, @SenatorPayman, and members of the Australian Parliament:

Open your Parliament to those of us who lived under forced hijab and burqa.
Let Afghan and Iranian women share the truth directly with you, to offer a clearer and more human understanding of what millions of women face today.

Australia has a proud democratic tradition of hearing voices, not silencing discussion.
Including us would honour that tradition.
We don’t ask to be spoken about.
We ask to be heard.

Like I said. She is an 'Anti'.
She is more 'anti' everyone from around the world, than she is 'pro' anything domestically Australian because, despite being a Queenslander (Victorians and West Australians are also like Queenslanders) of 'inner looking' (but ignorant of the external world) - she has exhibited very minimal understanding of Australian cultures... and there are many, just like States.

So yes, she proclaims herself a prime example of Australianism in defiance of foreign or non-australianism expressions here. But besides just wrapping herself in a flag, beating her chest and making goat bleatings about things in this country not going her 'Queenslander' way in regards to what is 'seen' on the Lefty TV Media Show.
She really HAS NOT PROVIDED any progressive NEW OFFERINGS examples of Australianisms, originalisms and cultural independence beyond making a TV show of Politics.
Like I've said. Her One Nation concept is a backwardness into our political past and has even probably been a major influence in derailing any 'domestic multi-culturalisms' between our States to Provincials - which have become now a Mediocre Sameness back to when this country first started not long after 1788.

She provides NO FUTURE for this country, in any political way.

But she, like Thorpe and the others provide us with nothing more than a MEDIA REALITY SHOW in parliament with the usual narcissistic (and other negative psychological traits) biatch fighting, backstabbing, verbal vitriol that you find promoted on Media Reality Shows anyway.

Hanson flaunts herself as an Anti-Villain, but like all Anti-Villains - she'll leave nothing but destruction in her wake with nothing to offer in the way of benefitting others, in the end.

Vote for Hanson/One Nation and you vote for a political act that causes division, despite its claim of 'oneness', but for all the wrong reasons that are not culturally enriching - but for reasons of violence in the name of ANTI, rather than promoting PRO.
Big difference.

Hanson V The Left...❓
Two very bad Wrongs, not making a right.
But hey, that's the reality of their show.

Senator Pauline Hanson this week strode into the red chamber wearing a short skirt and a long black burqa, all the better to protest the Senate’s refusal to even debate her motion to introduce a federal ban on the burqa.

There was of course much howling and  screeching from the miserable cohort of female senators who quite happily don a keffiyeh or prance around in possum cloaks as part of their own parliamentary pantomimes. Hyprocrisy and humbug are alive and well in the Canberra bubble.

The burqa is both literally and metaphorically the ultimate symbol of the failed policy of multiculturalism without assimilation; a medieval garment devoid of style or beauty that is primarily used as a tool of female oppression. As with other even less savoury cultural practices, it serves to deny a woman agency of her own looks and sexuality, reducing her instead to a form of chattel. On top of which the burqa alienates the immigrant woman from any hope of successfully intergrating fully into our Australian way of life.

At least 20 countries have implemented burqa bans, spanning Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. There are many reasons for such bans. Shame on the Senate for even refusing to debate the matter.

...

In an interview published by Iranian state-owned broadcaster Press TV earlier this week, the former Labor backbencher Fatima Payman appeared to say that Iran was an "incredible place" for women, where "their voices are heard".

It’s not hard to see why Hanson’s stunt has got under progressives’ skin. After all, they must recognise, on some level, that being simultaneously in favour of women’s rights while refusing to criticise any aspect of Islam – including its most ultra-conservative, fundamentalist expressions – requires a 2+2=5 kind of thinking. Cries of ‘racism’ are merely a product of the mental meltdown that occurs when so-called liberals are forced to confront their own cognitive dissonance.

Does being simultaneously in favour of women’s rights while refusing to criticise any aspect of rape – including a violent rapist she hired – require a 2+2=5 kind of thinking?

One Nation has appointed a convicted rapist, Sean Black, as its campaign director ahead of the federal election.

A judge said Black showed no remorse for raping and assaulting his former wife when he was jailed in 2018.

"Black raped the woman after she told him to stop physically abusing her in October 2007.

"He also pushed her down the stairs and kicked her. In another incident, he slammed a door on her fingers."

‘’Muslim-majority countries with burqa bans

Tajikistan: Banned the hijab completely in June 2024, along with full-face veils.

Tunisia: Partially banned the burqa in public institutions since 1981, though the ban was partially lifted in 2011.

Kazakhstan: Banned face coverings in public institutions like schools and universities.

Kyrgyzstan: Banned face coverings in public schools and universities.

Cameroon: Banned the burqa in public places.

Chad: Banned the burqa in public places.

Gabon: Banned the burqa in public places.

Senegal: Banned the burqa in public places. ‘’

Why? Can’t be racism; can’t be be being anti Muslim.

Main theory is security, they like to see people’s faces.

I’d like to hear what our Muslim Senators think the reasons are.

Hanson: “I stand by this man and he won’t be getting sacked. He's a good man”

I really don’t care what anyone in parliament wears!

I just want my rent, rego , electricity and groceries to be cheaper because it’s crazy expensive to live in this country and there are much better options in regards to living in available ( many less than 3 hours flight away)

Our politicians are absolutely destroying this country!

Families living in cars and we care about about Pauline  getting her burka on as a stupid stunt AGAIN.

Ffs.

Since when did wearing a burka be considered more important to helping the people who are homeless?

The Australian who is suffering to try and pay for their groceries?

The many people who use  to own a small business that went bankrupt?

People who can no longer afford electricity?

Pfft.

One nation can’t care less.

Just don’t wear a burka.

This is the number one problem facing everyday Australians.

Barnaby is so irrelevant he’s perfect for one nation.

Birds of a feather……

Does a Muslim woman, wearing a burka, or just a face covering, have to show her face in a bank when doing business with the teller?

Is she allowed to enter a bank with her face covered?

It's up to the individual bank.

There's no federal law prohibiting someone from entering a bank with their face covered.

That includes masks, helmets, burqas etc.

However, the bank has the right to refuse service, or entry, to someone who doesn't remove their face covering when requested.

This is the moment robbers armed with machetes stormed a jewellers to steal Ł106,000 of stones and watches while disguised as Muslim women in burkas. The career-criminals went on a 12-month spree between June 2015 and June 2016 carrying out at least 10 raids  across Greater Manchester.

Thanks for that; I had to have a laugh during the Covid time, our local banks had the usual no helmets signs and next to them were signs declaring that face masks must be worn.😀😀

Muslim countries have banned Gazans because they are never-ending trouble - so Albo has thrown open our castle gates to them..... clearly he sees no issue since he will retire with a heap of cash and in a nice little enclave far from the conflicts and troubles, and will just move offshore if it gets too hot and Howard guaranteed that their income for life would never be threatened by the Downfall of Australia... by emptying the national treasury and spiriting the cash away into a tax haven...... like the in reality Central American despotic dictator he and they all are once they get inside that circle....

Why would he or his cohorts worry about what they do now?

Well may they say god save Australia!  Because nothing will threaten politician's retirement funds!!!

Are you all still asleep out there?  Happy to see your country raped for some worthless ostensibly ideological purity reason, when in fact it is simply being raped?

Over the years I've given you every answer you need to get this place back to life and prospering for all of its people.... yet you still sleep...

Perhaps you should wear a full face helmet or ski mask/balaclava into the bank on your next visit. I don't think your mini skirt will disallow access.
You could even try it in your local servo.

Furore over burka unmasks Senate’s lack of courage

The burka would be far less serious if its proponents were – like the Amish, the Mennonites, ultra-Orthodox Jews and nuns and monks in cloistered communities – quietists, whose goal is not to alter our way of life but to peacefully withdraw from it. But Salafists are not retreating from the Earthly City to patiently await the City of God. Their radical separatism, of which the burka is the paradigmatic expression, aims to fracture and ultimately overthrow a society deemed terminally corrupt, while dismantling the liberal freedoms its proponents stridently invoke whenever their right to do so is questioned.

That is the shadow that falls across this debate – and which polite evasions cannot dispel. It must be discussed, as must the objections to the arguments set out here, because difficult issues can only be addressed through frank and open debate.

Banks set their own rules and they're usually not about any particular item, but about face coverings altogether.

BTW dumbarse, I've walked into many a servo wearing my helmet and never had an issue.

It is idiotic to draw a parallel between the Burka and a motorcycle helmet in a servo when paying for petrol.

So, predictably,  thicko Smitho will instantly draw it

Sixteen days of action against violence against women - and official violence is handed to Pauline for pointing out the oppression of some women - imagine wearing full black dress body length with hood and face covered in 35 deg C heat ...

"Politics and power" bans the burqa IN Parliament so as to avoid banning it outside Parliament.

politics and power

Cheesy Cheesy

"Politics and power" bans the burqa IN Parliament so as to avoid banning it outside Parliament.

More like snivelling, bbwiyawnesque cowardice.

You realy get a good laugh out of that Faruqi woman.... this is the state of the union right now - shockingly - and of mental skills in Parliament:-

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13360769/Pauline-Hanson-Mehreen-Faruqi-...

"Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi is a 'hypocrite' who is 'only against certain forms of racism', the federal court has been told in her blockbuster proceedings against Pauline Hanson.

Ms Faruqi is suing Ms Hanson over a comment she made on X, then Twitter, telling her to 'p*** off back to Pakistan' following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.

Under cross examination on Monday morning, Ms Faruqi reiterated that she stands against racism, but Ms Hanson's high-powered silk Sue Chrysanthou SC argued that she is selective in her advocacy.

'I'll be putting to her that she's a hypocrite and that she's only against certain forms of racism,' Ms Chrysanthou said.

She honed in on social media posts made by Ms Faruqi's son, Age journalist Osman Faruqi, which she told the court were offensive to white people.

One tweet read: 'Mediocre white people should be in the bin but instead they own everything and are every-f***ing-where.'

Asked whether she thought the post constituted racism, Ms Faruqi said: 'I don't.'

'You don't consider it racist?' Ms Chrysanthou asked again.

Ms Faruqi argued that racism 'is about people's ethnicity and skin colour. It is about who holds power in this country or anywhere else in the world'.

She added: 'It is tied to who holds the power and has the authority, to perpetrate racism. In this country, the power is held by white people.'

But she accepted that critics often share that particular post on her own social media platforms and express anger about the sentiment.

Just moments earlier, Ms Faruqi had again insisted that she stands against racism, 'without qualifying' precisely what that meant.

Ms Chrysanthou said: 'She redefined racism to only, apparently, include some minorities. It's hard to understand that decision.

'I wish to explore what she considers to be inappropriate racism, or what is acceptable racism.'

Justice Angus Stewart, who is presiding over the case, made reference to another high-profile case which is grappling with the definition of racism.

Matildas star Sam Kerr is currently fighting the charge of racially-aggravated harassment in the UK.

He mentioned that an argument is mounting, similar to what Ms Faruqi said, that white people hold the power in certain circumstances and therefore aren't discriminated against on the basis of race.

Ms Hanson's defence is built upon her belief that she made a 'fair comment' in response to Ms Faruqi's criticism of the Queen.

Just hours after the Queen's death, Ms Faruqi wrote: 'Condolences to those who knew the Queen.

'I cannot mourn the leader of a racist empire built on stolen lives, land and wealth of colonised peoples.

'We are reminded of the urgency of Treaty with First Nations, justice and reparations for British colonies and becoming a republic.'

Five hours later, senator Hanson responded and said Ms Faruqi should 'pack (her) bags and p*** off back to Pakistan'.

She added: 'Your attitude appalls and disgusts me. When you immigrated to Australia you took every advantage of this country.

'You took citizenship, bought multiple homes, and a job in a parliament. It's clear you're not happy.'

There's more - but you get the gist...

What?! Not an accurate reporting on what Faruqi and Hanson said?

How are the Granuiad or the ABC reporting it differently?

She chose to come to Australia - established by European(white), Chinese & Afghan & Indian cameleer pioneers. She is free to leave & return to Pakistan with her brown friends.

Why should anyone like her be given power because of her race?

Hanson is right about her 100%.

Pakistan - a country/state set up for Muslims because they couldn't get along with their brown skinned neighbors who were Hindu or Sikh or Christian.

An ungrateful hypocrite who is also an anti-Semite.

Indeed. A malignant hypocritical blowhard. "Piss off" is correct.

She's a bloody senator, so she has more power than most people.

Sarah Ferguson tried to portray Pauline Hanson as 'divisive', the truth is that Pauline has been paying close attention for a long time & could clearly see how Australia was changing so drastically.

If not for her intervention & persistence, we would be in far greater trouble today.

She stood strong despite how she was perceived by critics & she was 💯 right.
