There should be an independent Accounting Firm that monitors and makes public all Govt expenditures, maybe even for State to Shire even.
I'm happy for them to be paid by Taxpayers for this, even if they themselves charge a lot, it offsets greatly.
We are mandatory voters here and expenditure transparency should be mandatory in return.

I think the fact that Private Schools get taxpayer money's, while Public schools struggle to get teachers, just sums up the Scamming climate we are in. Australians are getting ripped off.

Over 400 people from obscure and even unrelated groups are using taxpayer fundings to attend that Brazillian COP Climate (ideology festival) Meeting. Ludicrous!

He was a self proclaimed BISEXUAL. Mostly in his early years before he became a chick magnet. Even then, their famous parties were hedonistic orgies of anything goes - even animals Wink

Hopefully there'll be an FOI request done by a journalist on this BOM debacle.

Or maybe the Senate can investigate it?

They'll just let the Media, etc forget about it, which means people will forget about it and they'll be like  Grin Tongue as usual.

It’s not going to be investigated and no one will be held accountable.

It the Australian government.

Transparency is a word that they only use when they have nothing to hide

Daves2017,

I think that you are probably, exactly, correct.

bobby, @Reply #34 and Reply #36, 'is dreaming'.

The men who framed HOW our Australian Commonwealth should be governed [< 1901],
were all honest souls***.

So they obviously didn't feel that there was any pressing need
to make any secure ['water-tight'] provision in Australian law,
for [real] accountability for the either corrupt or criminally incompetent choices,
of our LAWMAKERS
[i.e. because future lawmakers would be men and women exactly like themselves].***

Like Jagger & Richards, he probably did a little experimentation, but I seriously doubt that he ever packed fudge.

Wow! ALP Leftism has a big 27% of our GDP as Spending.

Now I'm not against Spending. But that's a big percentage 'so far', but spending it on frivolous and flippant things from a NRL team in Papua to COP Summits for the virtue signal let's of rainbows and unicorns posing as Climate experts, to Submarine blowouts costing more than the French fiasco and so on.

Quote:
The Bureau of Meteorology's new chief executive has revealed the agency's controversial website redesign was approved by the Turnbull government.

It follows the revelation that the site cost taxpayers $96.5 million, about 20 times the previously stated $4.1 million price tag
.
.............

"I totally understand the miscommunication that led to this perception in the public, but I want to make it clear that it was always going to cost a lot more than $4 million," he told the ABC.

"It was originally scoped back in 2017 and funded and approved by Cabinet at that time.

"Overall, the program was always intended to be in the order of $80 million."

Blaming COVID for the delay, as well as a "15 per cent cost blow-out", Dr Minchin firmly defended the need for the upgrade.

"The $96.5 million that we're talking about was not just the front end of the website, the tip of the iceberg that the public sees, but the back end, which sees data flowing from tens of thousands of pieces of equipment in the field, to the supercomputer that does all the modelling, right through to systems that actually forecast the weather and put it through to the website," he said.
