Europeans maintained a cultural hatred for Jews that persists even today... now known as 'neo-antisemitism'.
For those of us who are non-Jewish Europeans or descended from them, were to time-travel to the hovels of our ancient ancestors, up to the early 20th century, and spoke to them positively about Jews, we'd soon find ourselves strung up at the village entrance as a blasphemer or an apostate. Our ancestors would fear that the wrath of god himself would descend on them for tolerating a eulogy to the Jews.
Even today, when they feel safe enough to tell you what they really think, many Europeans go nuts in expressing their hatred of Jews. But the truly most insane part of it is that they usually have to scramble hard to explain their hatred.
Currently, their excuse is support for Palestinians - an energy they don't expend on the myriad other oppressed people across the world, such as the Uighurs, the Kurds, the Rohingya, any ethnicity in Africa or South America, or across central and east Asia.
Middle-Eastern Arabs, on the other hand, do not focus their hatred on Jews just for being Jews; it is predicated entirely on their being perceived as usurpers, colonisers and marauders, which is why they still use the terms Zionist and Zionist entity and not Israeli and Israel.
