TGD,
Quote:I told you why I vote for Labor: they are more likely to fund welfare-enhancing policies, eg
universal healthcare, and minimum wage increases.
That didn't work out for me.
Twice I was unemployed and I never got one penny from Centrelink.
They have a book called: 1001 reasons to get out of paying you anything.
TGD,
Quote:And I already explained why the private sector is dysfunctional;
and why governments of any persuasion can't fix it, given the current Neoclassical hegemony.
The private sector is burdened with massive taxes.
Even things like payroll taxes.
That is the reason behind both of the mass retrenchments I suffered.
One of the companies I worked for was completely shutdown and the entire factory
and even the research and design part was transferred overseas to an Asian country
for cheaper wages and taxes.
240 people lost their job that day - I was one of them.
The Union reps never even turned up that day.
Centrelink ripped us all off because we got payouts -
even small payouts of less than $5K and Centrelink
would tell you to take a running jump - you get nothing,
yet it was the Govts massive taxes that lost us all our jobs.
TGD,
Quote:Yes, that's because hapless Chalmers still believes he has to 'balance the budget',
like you and I have to balance our household budgets.
Hapless and hopeless - but still better than the 'survival of the fittest' Coalition alternative.
The coalition is not much better -
we have a one party State in Australia with 2 branches: Labor and Liberal.
They are both high taxing of the average worker and let the large
mining companies sell off our resources for cheap prices and little taxes.
1/3rd of our largest companies pay zero tax.
The little guy gets bullied around and exploited.
