If Trump says you should not vote for Mamdani, that means you should definitely, absolutely vote for him and I'm glad he won! From what I heard of his policies, he sounds like he'll be a great Mayor.
Yes, I must be catching TDS: I loathe Trump for saying he would deport Mamdani if he won.
Trouble is Mamdani will not be able to implement his 'socialist' policies, because he won't be able to tax the rich to fund his policies - the establishment won't allow it.
I hope the progressive wing of the Dems can now assert itself over the moribund 'centrist' faction, by exploring the funding of government via issuance of money from treasury, rather than taxing or borrowing from 'taxpayers'.
[Milton Friedman's line: "inflation is always a monetary phenomenon" is BS; it's time to abolish the "independent central bank"].
Bernie Sanders knows of MMT through Stephanie Kelton (who was his economic adviser in the 2016 election); so there is a chance Mamdani - in Bernie's progressive faction - might discover his options are far greater than relying on the rich to fund his policies.
Bully Trump has threatened to defund NYC if the "communist" (Trump's word) is elected; hopefully 'TACO' will apply when Mamdani is sworn in.
