Metallica

Went to see them last night.

...

Metallica Review: Heavy metal titans rock Perth’s Optus Stadium in M72 world tour show

Great visual show.

The sound wasn't perfect - a slight echo in the stadium - but overall a pretty good concert.

Although I'm not a fan of the support act - Evanescence - they put on a decent show too.

I've seen a few sporting events in the Optus Stadium but that was the first concert I've seen there.

7/10

Did Evenescence have the original female singer?
Have they kissed and made up?

The singer was Amy Lee.

Led Zeppelin aren't touring at the moment, Bobbi, so I chose Metallica.

Metallica isn't quite the same without 103 piece San Francisco Symphony Orchestra backing them up.

I don't mind Metallica.
But they've never come close to impacting hard music like AC⚡DC has.
They had a peak decade long ago, when they hit the world stage and since then, they've been riding those fumes since.

At the very start of the Metallica concert, they played AC/DC over the PA.

They acknowledged that they were in Bon Scott's home town.

It was pretty cool.

8 mins 50 secs

I could still enjoy a Metallica concert though.
They are a good band for what they offered.
Rammstein crapped on them at their peak though.

Apples and oranges comparing a rock band to a metal band. Both greats in their lane.

All those older bands are the same to some extent but Metalica are still very good. You would definately say the same about the stones or The Who - Aerosmith etc (all of them).

Metallica could have had the greatest orchestra backing the band up. But Metallica were so backed up, you could smell the shite as well as hear it.

Google AI:

Potential negative associations

Correlation with distress: Some surveys of young adults have found that fans of heavy metal and other rock genres report higher levels of psychological distress, anxiety, and depression compared to non-fans.

Association with externalizing behaviors: Studies have identified aggressive themes in heavy metal music as a potential risk factor for externalizing behaviors, such as aggression and substance use, especially when these are paired with a pre-existing disposition.

Feedback loop: For some, a feedback loop can develop where they listen to metal to cope with negative feelings, but as they listen more, they begin to associate the music with those same feelings, making it less effective as a coping mechanism.
