Where the legal age of consent is concerned, it's not just about age. Because there's the situation where an older person takes that Position of Authority where it becomes illegal. That might refer to a teacher, a boss, a coach, etc. but Andrew was so much older than Virginia Roberts so the consent was nullified. So the reality is he was 41 and she was 17 so in that case there was no legal consent.
There was also the coercion or force which also nullifies the legal age of consent. Virginia Roberts was a victim of that coercion by those much older than her - Epstein and Maxwell.
Virginia wrote in her book her father sexually abused her from age 7-11 if you need to know where her parents were.
Virginia admitted to recruiting young girls for Maxwell and Epstein she knew what was going on when she recruited them so this coercion bulldust doesn't stand the pub test.
It didn't look like coercion when she had her arm around Andrew she was smiling in that photo Epstein did pay her $15K USD for having sex with him 3 times i wonder how much Epstein charged Andrew and how much she was paid by others.

If it is true that Virginia Roberts' father sexually abused her as a child, then she was off to a very bad start in life and it would go some way to explain her poor choices further down the track. Abuse from a parent will cause psychological, behavioural and developmental issues that have a profound and long lasting effect on the victim. Are we to blame her for that?
That is why the law is there to prevent young people from making those wrong choices in life - as they so often do. And holding those who exploit them to account. Andrew was an adult of 41 whilst she was still a minor at 17 therefore any sex between them was illegal. That is by law because young people need to be protected from themselves as well as others.
As for the brother who has been in the media looking for his 15 minutes of fame, obviously he didn't read her book either. He seems to be unaware, if the accusation is true, that his own father kicked off this whole sorry saga. But there he is demanding an exclusive sit down with the king to discuss Andrew's child abuse. Maybe he should start with his own father?
Concerning the Rochford rapes by hundreds of Pakistani mussos, it was beyond belief that the authorities turned the other way and refused to arrest those creatures simply because they were mussos and therefore untouchable.
