If you compare negatives of photos of a group of European businessmen and a similar photo of a group of Indian businessmen, both groups in the same type of clothing, then it is impossible to say which is which.

The lighter - not light - Indians are the Muslim invaders - arab, Turkic, cental Asian, Persian.
They are distictly not 'white' or anything like Eurpeans.
IN any case, they had nothing European, either racially or culturally, about them. They were Muslim converts themselves from central Asia.

Well, obviously, I have not had the time or the means to travel overseas. Nor would I want to go to shithole countries like India for a holiday. So, no, I have not looked around places like India.

But you have to be kidding me if you think Indians consider themselves white. They have commercials over there that advertise skin whitening creams. Indians are so obsessed with looking white, that Indians would bleach their skin to make themselves look like pale Indians. So, I don't know where you get the idea that there are light skinned Indians. Perhaps they were the result of the British (and other Europeans) having relations with the women there.

Personal observation and as far as India being a shithole, where did you get that idea?
Probably from videos about north India, the South is renowned for its cleanliness.
Historically Australia’s towns were also shitholes particularly Sydney when it was infested with rats and with fleas [the later within living memory]
India is cleaning up its act just as we did, remember when there were dog droppings in Sydney’s CBD?
I have travelled for thousands of miles on Indian railways, including many, many short trips on Mumbai’s crowded suburban trains and never once smelt BO.
Cannot say the same for Sydney and Melbourne and as for the London Underground. I was once nearly late for an important appointment because the stench of BO in the train was so sickening that I had to get off, fortunately the next train wasn’t so bad.

Back in the 1960s in England it was common to be told by land ladies that allowing twice a week showers was a concession to Australians.

As for the Sikh religion, it teaches that the Soul is neither male nor female, therefore men and women are equal.
Seems that Sikhism discovered such equality long before we did.

Is it any different than northern & southern Italians?

Most northern Italians are fair skinned but the further south you go from Naples to Sicily the darker they get ..... the Mediterranean gene. Northern Italians have Celtic & Germanic genes.

Kashmiri are not all light skinned - nor are Ladakh people - or the Nepalese.

Many dark/brown skinned peoples across the north of India.

Nepal, Tibet & Bhutan peoples have ancient East Asian, Central Asian/Siberian ancestry.

6% of the Tibetan(&Sherpa) gene pool consists of non modern human Denisovan-related DNA—which helped them adapt to extreme high-altitude oxygen levels.

Maybe you are not white. Therefore, anyone lighter-skinned than you is considered white. I worked with an Australian born person with Indian heritage. He might well have had a lighter complexion than the average Indian (regardless of origin of birthplace). But, he was still darker than most Australians (at least those of European Australian heritage).

India in general is a "shithole" simply because it is overcrowded, polluted and rubbish. You can find some very nice (exclusive) neighbourhoods throughout India. In fact, there are about 40 million Indians that earn at least $100,000 per year. So, they can afford to buy homes in very decent neighbourhoods. But 40 million Indians out of 1.4 billion Indians earning good money is not indicative of a rich society.

I base my observations on third party information. Video footage of towns and cities full of rubbish blowing through the streets. The pile up of garbage. The waterways full of rubbish and pollution. It is a wonder how the Indians don't die of disease in record numbers. Maybe they do, but the birthrate is so high that the population can remain stable.

I am not old enough to remember when Sydney was a shithole. I have observed footage of Sydney's run down neighbourhoods. But, at least they are cleaner than the neighbourhoods I have watched in media footage of India. 26 years ago, 75% of Indians would defecate in the street. Today, about 11%. And whilst there is public toilets available all over India today to discourage open defecation, there are still hundreds of millions of Indians who still defecate publicly. Did you see the (censored) video of the Indian in Australia who was caught taking a dump near a footpath? The mindset of Indians is still disgusting.

The last person I accused of having bad body odour was actually myself. That was because I stayed home for 5 days and did not shower. It got to a point that I got into the shower and had a 10 minute body scrub. And had I gone to work or out shopping, I would have definitely showered to the point of satisfactory cleanliness. My Indian co-workers (or ex-coworkers) have made efforts to shower and shave before their shifts. One of them actually overuses his body deodorant to the point of eye-watering levels. Only once have I ever met an Indian in Rockhampton who showed unacceptable levels of hygiene.

Until recently, I would heckle the English for their hygiene. But, I was basing that on an old stereotype that they rarely shower. Some guy on facebook questioned me about why I would make such a judgement, as he (an Englishman) would shower at least once a day. I have yet to know of a Brit that has bad hygiene.

Well, firstly I am “white’’, that is European and as I said earlier my father could trace his tree back a thousand years. I have added a further thousand three hundred to the time of Gaius Julius Caesar II (possibly born 3rd Century BC) this, of course, should be taken with more than a grain of salt as even back then people were inventing notable ancestors.
I did see the video of the Indian shitting in the street and you pointing to it reminds me of childhood days in suburban Sydney when it was not uncommon to see evidence of human deification in the streets, particularly on Sunday mornings, we walked to church with downcast eyes, out of necessity not piety, there were also ‘technicolor yawns’ to be avoided.

And I doubt many people can trace their's back before 1700. Looking up your family tree might lead to getting hit by coconuts. Never mind trying to prove that your ancestry went back to the times of Julius Caesar II.
